With the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles both coming into Super Bowl 57 with banged-up quarterbacks, health across the rest of the roster could be the difference between hoisting the Lombardi Trophy and leaving the desert in defeat.
This page will be updated frequently leading up to the Super Bowl as we get more information and practice reports get released.

– Patrick Mahomes’s ankle will remain the biggest story in Kansas City over the next week. He was pressured on 21 of his 50 dropbacks, but completed 67% of his passes and averaged 7.6 yards per attempt while turning the ball over just once.
Once again, Mahomes was a full participant in every practice last week and does not carry an injury designation into Super Bowl Week.
– The Chiefs got more good news on Monday when Clyde Edwards-Helaire was activated from the IR. The former first-round pick started the first six games of the season, but hasn’t played since Week 11 due to a high ankle sprain.
Isiah Pacheco has become the lead back in Kansas City, earning 28 touches over the past two weeks. Edwards-Helaire will compete with Jerick McKinnon for the backup role behind the rookie.
– Mecole Hardman was active for the first time since injuring his pelvis back in Week 9, but aggravated the injury after playing just 15 snaps.
That Hardman injury was the tip of the iceberg for the Chiefs’ receiving corps, which also finished the game without Kadarius Toney (ankle) or Juju Smith-Schuster (knee).
Hardman was considered doubtful after sitting out every practice last week and was added to the IR on Monday, ending any chance he has to play in the Super Bowl.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling finished the game second on the team in targets, trailing only Travis Kelce, catching six passes for 116 yards. Rookie Skyy Moore had six targets of his own, but caught three of them for a meager 13 yards.
– The Chiefs were also without L’Jarius Snead for much of the afternoon. He left due to a concussion after playing just four total snaps. However, Snead graduated concussion protocol this week and is on track to be active come Sunday.
Joshua Williams ended up filling in at outside corner and allowed just two catches on five targets while also recording an interception. For the season, the rookie fourth-round pick has surrendered 450 yards and six touchdowns on 48 targets.

– Jalen Hurts’s shoulder will remain a question in the back of Eagles fans’ minds for the next two weeks, but despite his lackluster numbers against the 49ers, he wasn’t afraid to let it rip, averaging 9.7 air yards per throw, his highest mark since suffering the injury back in Week 15.
– According to the FOX broadcast on Sunday, Lane Johnson re-tore his groin during the win over the Giants after spending five weeks rehabbing the injury.
Even with the injury, Johnson put on another masterful display against Nick Bosa and company, allowing just two pressures and zero quarterback hits or sacks.
– Landon Dickerson was seen wearing a brace on his left elbow after leaving late in the win over the 49ers with an apparent arm injury. He was replaced by former first-round pick Andre Dillard.
Last Tuesday, Jeff McLane reported Dickerson suffered a hyperextended elbow, but MRIs were negative, clearing the way for him to play against the Chiefs.
Dickerson finished the season second in pass block win rate among guards and has allowed just two pressures in his last four games. Chris Jones, who wrecked the Bengals last week with 10 pressures, spends most of his snaps lined up over the left guard.
– The Eagles activated punter Arryn Siposs from the IR on Saturday, paving the way for his return on Super Bowl Sunday. He struggled this season, ranking 30th in the NFL in net yards per punt and landed just 36.4 percent of his punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard-line.
However, his replacement Brett Kern was even worse in recent weeks, averaging just 35.8 net yards per punt last week against the 49ers, a far cry from the 43.1 he averaged as an All Pro back in 2019.
– The only Eagle carrying an injury designation into the weekend is punt returner Britain Covey. The Utah product was added to the injury report on Thursday and was limited in Friday’s session as well.
Covey finished the season ranked eighth in yards per punt return with his longest return going for 27 yards. He hasn’t returned a single punt in either of the Eagles’ postseason games.
Philadelphia did promote Greg Ward from the practice squad on Saturday. He has returned 30 punts in his NFL career, averaging just 5.7 yards per return.
