I almost didn’t want the 2025 season to end because of how tremendously successful it was from a betting perspective
But now that 2025 is in the rearview mirror, one thing about 2026 is clear: It’s WIDE OPEN and should be a crazy year.
Think about who participated in the last few Super Bowls and their preseason odds.
2023: +600 Chiefs beat the +900 49ers
2024: +1200 Eagles beat the +500 Chiefs
Before that, we had the +1000 Chiefs in 2022 and the +1200 Rams in 2021 take home the Lombardi.
The longest odds were 12:1, and most often they were pitted against a team that was 10:1 or less.
But in 2025?
The +6000 Seahawks beat the +8000 Patriots.
And in 2025, we saw perennial powers completely fade from contention.

NFL Parity
Over the five years from 2020 through 2024, the top-nine winningest teams, those with the best record, were the Chiefs, Bills, Packers, Ravens, Eagles, Bucs, Steelers, Cowboys, and Vikings.
Last year, the Chiefs, Ravens, Bucs, Cowboys, and Vikings didn’t make the playoffs.
Not only that, NONE of them even had a winning record in 2025.
The Packers, Eagles, and Steelers didn’t win a playoff game.
To sum it up: Five of the nine winningest teams over the prior half-decade had losing records in 2025, and eight of nine didn’t win a single playoff game.
The only team that did win a playoff game was the Bills, who were the #2 most winningest team the prior five years.
They wound up as a six-seed in the AFC and won exactly one playoff game, a Wild Card victory over the Jaguars, which they very easily could have lost.
That’s ONE total playoff win among the nine winningest teams the prior five seasons.
Absolutely remarkable.
And in 2026, it seems like things are picking up where they left off in 2025.
Some of the very best teams entering 2026 feel vulnerable.
And those top-nine teams from the prior five years?
Massive changes at the top for almost all of them.
The best teams and their records since 2020 (pre-2025):
1. Chiefs (66-18) – replaced their offensive coordinator
2. Bills (61-22) – fired their head coach
3. Packers (54-30) – hired a new defensive coordinator
3. Ravens (54-30) – fired their head coach
5. Eagles (52-31-1) – fired their offensive coordinator
6. Bucs (51-33) – fired their offensive coordinator
7. Steelers (50-33-1) – hired a new head coach
8. Cowboys (49-35) – fired their defensive coordinator
8. Vikings (49-35) – no changes to top coaches
The top of the 2026 landscape feels more open than ever, and that’s reflected in the odds.
As we sit right now, there are 14 teams with odds of 20:1 or better to win the Super Bowl: Rams, Ravens, Bills, Seahawks, Chiefs, Eagles, Patriots, Chargers, Packers, Texans, Lions, 49ers, Broncos, and Bengals.
Last year at this time, there were only five!
Chiefs, Eagles, Bills, Ravens, and Lions.
That is an amazing change in just one year.
From five clear favorites in 2025 to 14 in 2026.
Unprecedented Changes for the NFL in 2026
Uncertainty and change are the themes of the offseason.
We have 10 new head coaches, 21 new offensive coordinators, and 16 new defensive coordinators.
In a league with only 32 teams, we’re saying one-third have a new head coach, two-thirds have a new offensive coordinator, and half have a new defensive coordinator.
That’s 47 new coaches at those positions overall.
That’s the most turnover in coaching we’ve seen in years.
Personally, I love it.
I love it as a fan of progress and pivoting away from what isn’t delivering results.
And I love it as a bettor, because with uncertainty comes opportunity.
Think of it this way: pretend that every head coach, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator was entering their 10th straight season with the same team.
The same 32 quarterbacks were starting for the 10th straight season, and the other 21 starters on offense and defense were unchanged as well.
And pretend that no players ever were injured during the season.
If that were the case, the sportsbooks would be pretty dialed into power ratings, spreads, player props, and more for the 2026 season.
We, too, as bettors, would be dialed in.
But we don’t initiate; they do.
They set the line, and then we react.
If their lines were so accurate because there were no unknowns, we would have no opportunities to find value, and thus, betting would be a true coin flip.
Something done for pure entertainment, rather than because there is actually an edge and a way to generate profit.
Fortunately, that’s not what we’re walking into in 2026.
We’re walking into massive change from the coaching ranks, the likes of which we haven’t seen in recent memory.
We’re walking into massive uncertainty at the top of the ranks among which teams will have the most success this year, the likes of which we haven’t seen in recent memory.
This is a PERFECT time to be betting on the NFL if you actually are looking to generate profit, rather than flip coins for entertainment.
This is when I’ve historically seen the most success, so I can’t wait to see how things unfold this season.
In my 2026 NFL Preview, I shared predictions and thoughts on all 32 teams, their 32 quarterbacks, and their 32 play-callers, along with how I think their season will go.
The edges come from understanding all 32 teams.
This process simply works and has produced incredible results for readers and for me, personally, and I pass them along to clients:
- NFL Futures: 98-55 (64%) over seven years and produced a profit of +79.44 positions, meaning a $100 bettor is up $7,944 following them.
- In the last two years, a $100 bettor is up $3,144 on our futures.
And I feel even more confident heading into 2026 than I did heading into 2025.
Not only does this extensive research for the book pay off in season-long futures, but also immediately out of the gates heading into Week 1.
Last year, we came out in Week 1 with a 33-23 (59%) record for +6.29 units and produced profit in 11 of the first 12 weeks of the season.
In 2024, we came out of Week 1 with a 23-12 (65.7%) record for +8.14 units and produced profit in 8 of the first 9 weeks of the season.
And the impact extends all season long.
Last year, for the first time in my history, we introduced my “Best Bet of the Week.”
Take a look at the results:
► 11-0 (100%) on 1.25+ unit bets
► 17-3 (85%) on our best bet of the week
► 19 out of 22 winning weeks (86%)
A $100 bettor finished up $14,154 using my NFL service in 2025.
In 2024, the results were just as record-breaking, as a $100 bettor finished up $15,636.
Entering 2026, I’ve now produced profit in 19 of 20 seasons running Sharp Football Analysis.
Lifetime over 20 years, I’ve hit 63% on my specialty, NFL totals.
Entering my 21st year, I've won 58% of all NFL recommendations across over 3,000 NFL sides and totals.
I already have a massive head start on 2026 thanks to the months of research I put into my preview book to outwork the competition.
As I mentioned, I feel great about the 2026 season and want you to join us, so I’m offering you the ability to join us at a massive discount.
