Week 11 DFS Picks: Core Players and Best Plays

Every week, I will go through the players I am targeting to play in DFS for all games, tournaments, and game stacks.

The idea is that this will paint a clearer picture of framing lineups.

Team & Game Stacks

Our core players are the ones we will have the most exposure to at their respective positions.

They can be played in cash games and tournaments.

I will analyze the player selections and game writeups, but please refer to the Week 11 Worksheet for a detailed breakdown of the players and games.

Quarterback

Justin Herbert ($8,200/$6,300)

The Jacksonville defense is reeling.

They are last in the NFL in sack rate over their past five games (2.6%) and have resorted to blitz-happy tactics to generate pressure.

The Jaguars have a 35.8% blitz rate over that span (third) but are only 16th in pressure rate on those blitzes (44.4%).

Over that span, they are allowing 7.4 yards per pass attempt (19th) with a 7.6% touchdown rate (30th).

They have allowed a QB1 scorer in all five of those games.

The first three were Patrick Mahomes (26.7 points), Sam Darnold (20 points), and Matthew Stafford (27.4 points).

No big deal. Those have been excellent quarterbacks this season.

But out of their bye, the Jaguars have allowed Geno Smith (26.3 points) and Davis Mills (27.7 points) to cook them.

They are also 26th in rushing points allowed per game to quarterbacks (3.8).

Herbert has already set a new career-high in rushing yardage (324 yards), averaging 32.4 yards per game on the ground.

To top it off, the Jaguars have been a heavy pass-funnel team because they are good against the run.

They face 37.9 passes per game (third most) and the second-highest pass rate in the league.

Joe Flacco ($7,800/$5,500)

Since Flacco has joined the Bengals, he has been the QB13 (18.8 points), QB6 (26 points), QB5 (24.3 points), and QB9 (30.7 points).

Over his time under center, Flacco has the third-fastest time to throw (2.46 seconds), while 54.2% of his throws have come within 2.5 seconds (4th).

As a byproduct, Flacco has only been pressured on 27.4% of his dropbacks since joining the Bengals, the third-lowest rate in the league.

The books are signaling that this is a spot on the road where this offense can be slowed down.

But the Bengals really have only played one way, given the state of their defense.

This team gave up 39 points to the Jets.

In Flacco’s four starts with the Bengals, he has thrown the ball 45, 47, 34, and 47 times.

The Bengals have a pass rate 5% over expectations over the stretch.

When these teams played in Week 7, Flacco was 31 of 47 for 342 yards and 3 touchdowns.
