Week 14 DFS Picks: Core Players and Best Plays

Every week, I will go through the players I am targeting to play in DFS for all games, tournaments, and game stacks.

The idea is that this will paint a clearer picture of framing lineups.

Team & Game Stacks

Our core players are the ones we will have the most exposure to at their respective positions.

They can be played in cash games and tournaments.

I will analyze the player selections and game writeups, but please refer to the Week 14 Worksheet for a detailed breakdown of the players and games.

Quarterback

Josh Allen ($9,200/$7,700)

At home this season, Allen has averaged a league-high 29.6 points per game with a low mark of 19.4 fantasy points.

Allen has a 115.9 rating at home (2nd behind Matthew Stafford), with league-highs in completion rate (73.8%) and yards per pass attempt (9.1) to go along with 13 passing touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

Not only does Allen return home, but he draws a Cincinnati defense that is still expected to be without Trey Hendrickson.

Even with last week’s positive showing, the Bengals are 30th in passing points allowed per attempt (0.502), allowing 7.9 Y/A (31st) and a 5.7% touchdown rate (27th).

Matthew Stafford ($8,000/$6,900)

Stafford had a hiccup last week in a loss to Carolina, but he still threw for 8.7 yards per pass attempt and a pair of touchdowns.

The Rams moved the ball all game (1 punt) and posted a league-high 7.4 yards per play on Sunday, but 3 turnovers were his undoing, all of which cost the Rams significantly.

He is still playing as well as anyone in the league, and the Rams are sporting a team total just below 30 points.

Stafford has still thrown multiple passing touchdowns in 10 of his past 11 games.

Tyrod Taylor ($6,700/$4,900)

If paying down at quarterback, Taylor stands out at his price point.

Taylor has been usable in all three of his starts this season, ending those weeks as the QB10 (16.7 points), QB17 (12.8 points), and last week’s game as the QB6 (21.3 points).

The Jets have a 66.1% dropback rate in Taylor’s three starts compared to a 54.1% dropback rate with Justin Fields.

The Dolphins have allowed 4.5 rushing points per game (30th) to quarterbacks, giving Taylor a baseline to work from.

Miami has allowed a QB1 scorer in four straight games, which includes Marcus Mariota (15.4 points) and Tyler Shough (17.4 points).
