Week 17 DFS Picks: Tournament Plays

Every week, I will go through the players I am targeting to play in DFS for all games, tournaments, and game stacks.

The idea is that this will paint a clearer picture of framing lineups.

Team & Game Stacks

It is not that tournament players cannot be used in cash games.

If a player here works out for your team structure in cash games surrounding your primary core, use them.

These are just the players that come with some element of inherent risk, but they also are the primary players I still want to be ahead of the field on, compared to the percentage of rosters they are projected to make this weekend.

I will analyze the player selections and game writeups, but please refer to the Week 17 Worksheet for a detailed breakdown of the players and games.

Quarterback

Drake Maye ($8,400/$6,800)

Maye is in a great spot to keep rolling as a fantasy QB1.

The Patriots have one of the highest team totals on the board against a Jets defense that has allowed 18.4 points per game to quarterbacks over their past nine games.

They have allowed five QB1 scoring weeks over that span, which includes a QB10 week (15.4 points) to Maye in Week 11 in the first matchup between these teams.

In that game, Maye completed 25 of 34 passes (73.5%) for 281 yards (8.3 Y/A) with a touchdown.

Baker Mayfield ($7,800/$5,600)

Mayfield has not been good for roughly the past two months, but as Justin Herbert taught us last week, we must stay the course when things line up on paper.

The Bucs have a solid team total and are facing a Miami pass defense that we have regularly picked on this season.

Miami is 27th in passing points allowed per attempt (0.500), allowing a league-high 71.5% completion rate, 7.5 yards per pass attempt (26th), and a 5.8% touchdown rate (28th).

Miami is also 25th in rushing points allowed to passers (3.6 per game).

The one good thing from Mayfield last week was that he rushed for 49 yards and has averaged 4.0 rushing points per game over the past six games.

Over their past seven games, Miami has allowed five QB1 scoring weeks.

One of the weeks they did not was against Brady Cook.

The other was Aaron Rodgers, who still scored 17 points and had the second-highest completion percentage of his career.

Jacoby Brissett ($7,600/$5,700)

Things finally came to an end for Brissett’s run as a QB1 on Sunday, but he is in a favorable environment to bounce back.

The Bengals are still 30th in passing points allowed per attempt (0.517).

The Bengals have allowed 8.2 yards per pass attempt (30th) and a 5.9% touchdown rate (29th).

Cincinnati did not allow a touchdown to Quinn Ewers on Sunday, but he still threw for 8.7 Y/A and 260 yards in his first NFL start.
