Week 6 DFS Picks: Core Players and Best Plays

Every Sunday in the weekly fantasy chats, I get asked about my favorite plays of the week or who is my player pool that weekend for DFS.

This article series covers exactly that.

I will go through the players I am targeting as core plays for all formats and will cover tournament plays and games to target for stacks in other posts.

The idea is that this will paint a clearer picture of framing lineups.

Week 6 DFS Content:

Our core players are the players that we will have the most exposure to in their positions.

They can be played in cash games and tournaments and are the players we are primarily building our lineups with.

I will have some analysis on the player selections and game writeups, but check out the Week 6 Worksheet for a fully detailed breakdown of the players and games.

Quarterback

Tua Tagovailoa ($7,600 DraftKings/$8,300 FanDuel)

If spending all of the way up at quarterback, take the passer at home with the highest implied team total on the week.

The Panthers are 27th in the league in terms of pressure rate (30.1%). Tua has faced two teams lower than Carolina at pressuring the quarterback and those were his QB1 (27.1 points) and QB2 (28.4 points) scoring weeks.

When Tagovailoa has not been pressured, he is completing 79.1% of his passes (fourth) for 10.4 yards per pass attempt (second) with 11 passing touchdowns (first) and a 128.2 rating (second).
