- 22.5% of Philadelphia's plays have gained 10 or more yards these past three games (8th) after a league-low 12% gained 10 or more yards in Weeks 1 through 4.
- The Eagles have a 29.3% success rate on running back runs over that span, the lowest rate in the league.
- Philadelphia has a 66.9% dropback rate in neutral game scripts over that span (5th) after a 57.6% rate prior (23rd).
- The Eagles are averaging 1.3 fewer yards per rushing play than their opponent, the worst differential in the league.
- The Giants are 31st, averaging -1.1 yards per rushing play than their opponent.
- The Giants have converted 64.3% (9 of 14) of their red zone trips into touchdowns under Jaxson Dart (13th) after converting 20% (2 of 10) prior (31st).
- The Giants have scored 8 touchdowns from outside of the red zone, tied for second in the league.
- 76% of the Eagles' scoring plays (19 of 25) have been touchdowns, second in the league.
- 47.1% of the scoring plays (16 of 34) against the Eagles have been touchdowns, the third-lowest rate in the league.
Trust = spike production for that player
Quarterback
Jalen Hurts (TRUST): Hurts had arguably his best game of the season on Sunday in Minnesota.
He connected on 19 of 23 attempts (82.6%) for 326 yards (14.2 Y/A) with 3 touchdowns.
He completed 9 of 12 passes on throws of 10 or more yards downfield and 5 of 6 (with all 3 touchdowns) on throws of 20 or more yards downfield.
He connected on his third throw this season (tied for the most in the league) over 40 yards downfield, which was a 79-yard touchdown to DeVonta Smith.
Hurts racked up 25.0 passing points, losing 10 yards rushing.
We brought this up last week, but despite the unevenness in the Eagles' search for their offensive identity, Hurts has consistently scored fantasy points.
He has been a QB1 scorer in six of seven weeks this season and is the QB4 in points per game (21.2 points).
I also believe we are finding out that the 2025 Eagles are a passing team.
The run game has struggled, and the offensive line is currently a better pass-blocking unit than it is at opening up the run game.
An interesting thing did happen on Sunday.
When Cam Jurgens left the game with an injury, Brett Toth took his place.
Toth has struggled to snap the ball in shotgun formation, which then forced the Eagles to play more under center.
Hurts ended up playing a career-high 40.8% of his snaps under center.
They only threw the ball four times from under center, but they used play action on all of those.
Hurts was 4 of 4 for 121 yards with 3 first downs or touchdowns on those plays.
One of the frustrating parts of this Philadelphia team has been their overuse of static shotgun passing plays.
Hopefully, this is something that provides a light bulb moment for a way to get more under center and play action into the offense.
If Jurgens misses Week 8 with a knee injury, then we have more confidence that it will at least be a part of things on Sunday.
This is our first rematch week of the season (the Colts and Titans also have played this year).
The Eagles and Giants just played two weeks ago.
In that game, Hurts opened the night the right way.
In the first half against the Giants, Hurts completed 14 of 18 passes (77.8%) for 164 yards (9.1 Y/A) with a touchdown.
Things then unraveled in the second half.
Hurts was 10 of 15 (66.7%) for 119 yards (7.9 Y/A) with no touchdowns and an interception.
Hurts missed Smith on a potential 89-yard touchdown, and then his first interception of the season came on a back-breaking play down 10 in the fourth quarter on the 15-yard line.
He still ended with 20.6 fantasy points.
The Giants played man coverage on 32.7% of Hurts' dropbacks, the highest rate he has seen in a game this season.
Against man coverage in Week 6, Hurts was 6 of 12 (50%) for 66 yards (5.5 Y/A) with a touchdown and an interception.
If the Giants adopt a similar approach, Hurts should see an improvement.
Outside of that game, Hurts has a 63.4% completion, 9.0 Y/A, and 7 touchdowns to 0 interceptions against man coverage.
Hurts was only pressured 28.9% of the time against New York, his lowest rate in a game this season.
They blitzed him only 18.4% of the time, the second-lowest blitz rate he has faced this year.
The Giants also exited Sunday’s game in Denver with injuries to S Jevon Holland and CB Paulson Adebo.
If both of those players are out this weekend, there is a larger path for QB1 production for Hurts.
Jaxson Dart: Dart had a wild game in Denver last week.
He completed only 45.5% of his passes (15 of 33), but he still posted 283 yards.
His 18.9 yards per completion were the highest for a passer in a game this season.
Dart opened things with a 44-yard touchdown to an uncovered Daniel Bellinger.
He later had a 41-yard touchdown to Theo Johnson on a deflected pass intended for Wan’Dale Robinson.
He mixed in a third passing score on a screen to Cam Skattebo and later added a rushing touchdown.
He did throw a costly interception, but when the fantasy smoke settled, Dart was the QB2 (28.4 points) for the week.
Over his four starts, Dart has been the QB10, QB20, QB3, and QB2 in weekly scoring.
Like Drake Maye last year, Dart has a playstyle that can produce fantasy points, even when everything feels combustible play to play, and the box score is not always pretty from an efficiency standpoint.
He is a fringe QB1 for me here for the rushing aspect of his game.
The Giants are still heavy road dogs with a low team total, so we have some fragility.
I am interested to see how the Eagles adjust in the rematch.
One of those games was against the Eagles two weeks ago, when Dart was 17 of 25 (68%) for 195 yards (7.8 Y/A) with a passing touchdown, adding 58 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
In the matchup two weeks ago, the Eagles did not have Jalen Carter and lost Quinyon Mitchell after 13 snaps.
Vic Fangio must have been feeling those losses because they blitzed Dart 45.5% of the time in that game, their highest blitz rate in a game this season.
The next closest rate of blitzes by the Eagles was 28.9%.
They played man coverage 52.2% of the time against Dart.
Their next closest game was 34.8% against the Rams.
Dart was 8 of 12 for 99 yards (8.3 Y/A) with a touchdown when blitzed (119.8 rating).
Against man coverage, he was 9 of 15 for 126 yards (8.4 Y/A) with a touchdown (109.3).
He only threw for 6.9 yards per attempt against the zone that game, which aligns with his tendencies so far.
Dart is averaging only 6.6 Y/A with an 83.2 rating against zone coverage through four games compared to 7.5 Y/A with 4 touchdowns and an interception against man coverage (107.5 rating).
With Mitchell back, the Eagles could revert to their season-long tendencies and increase zone coverages, forcing Dart to make reads and throw into tighter windows.
The rushing part of Dart’s game can still impact things.
The Eagles are 28th in rushing yards allowed per game to quarterbacks (27.1).
They also struggle to get sacks, which can allow Dart to extend plays with his legs.
Only 12% of Philadelphia's pressures result in sacks, 31st in the league.
