Quarterback

Jalen Hurts: Hurts has been on fire to open the season, finishing as a top-four scorer in all three games to kick things off. These past two weeks have highlighted his true ceiling potential as he has been a hyper-efficient passer. In Week 3, Hurts only had 2.0 rushing points after 15.0 and 17.7 in the opening two games and was still the QB2 (27.6 points) on the week.

Hurts has thrown for 10.7 and 9.7 yards per pass attempt the past two weeks against Minnesota and Washington.

Jacksonville gave up a plethora of big plays in Week 1 to Washington as Carson Wentz was the QB3 (27.7 points) that week, but the past two weeks Jacksonville has allowed the QB32 and QB22 scoring week to Matt Ryan and Justin Herbert. Ryan was missing two of his top three wide receivers while Herbert was playing through a rib injury, missing two starting offensive linemen, and Keenan Allen.

I do not want to fully take anything away from Jacksonville as this is a defense that not only played what was in front of them but shut both teams completely down. That said, this will be their largest task over the opening month of the season while also inversely serving as the toughest task Hurts has had.

The only real problem area for Hurts early in the season has been facing pressure, but he has been pressured at the sixth lowest in the league the past two weeks.

Under pressure this season, Hurts is 9-of-24 (37.5%) for 98 yards (4.1 Y/A) with zero touchdown passes. Jacksonville is 11th in pressure rate (32.3%).

Even if Jacksonville does get home and Hurts has a setback passing, we still have the rushing potential as an out, which is why Hurts is a weekly QB1.
