Jets vs. Chiefs Fantasy Quarterback Preview

Patrick Mahomes (TRUST)

Mahomes had a strong fantasy outing in Denver on Sunday, completing 30 of 41 passes (73.2%) for 321 yards and 3 touchdowns in a QB5 (25.4 points) scoring week.

That was his first QB1 scoring week since Week 2.

Mahomes is coming off a run of tougher matchups and low team totals, but he gets a break this week as a high-total, home favorite.

That gives him plenty of appeal as a QB1 option.

The Jets have been handing out fantasy points to quarterbacks lately, allowing Drake Maye (23.8 points), Malik Willis (26.0 points), and Kirk Cousins (28.2 points) to post high-end weeks against them over the past three games.

Willis and Cousins did add a rushing touchdown to their totals, but Willis still averaged 9.9 yards per pass attempt with 2 passing touchdowns, while Cousins threw for 9.5 yards per pass attempt with 3 touchdowns.

Geno Smith

We have picked our spots with Geno as a matchup-based streamer against the Lions (26 points), Dolphins (23.5 points), and Raiders (18 points), but we have reservations about him as a QB2 here.

The Jets are significant road underdogs with a lower-end team total this week.

Kansas City has allowed 11.9 passing points per game (8th), a 62.3% completion rate (8th), 6.6 yards per pass attempt (10th), and a 2.9% touchdown rate (third).

At home this season, the Chiefs have allowed 5.7 yards per pass attempt (2nd) with 2 passing touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
