Week 10 DFS Picks: Tournament Plays

Every week, I will go through the players I am targeting to play in DFS for all games, tournaments, and game stacks.

The idea is that this will paint a clearer picture of framing lineups.

It is not that tournament players cannot be used in cash games.

If a player here works out for your team structure in cash games surrounding your primary core, use them.

These are just the players that come with some element of inherent risk, but they also are the primary players I still want to be ahead of the field on, compared to the percentage of rosters they are projected to make this weekend.

I will analyze the player selections and game writeups, but please refer to the Week 10 Worksheet for a detailed breakdown of the players and games.

Quarterback

Lamar Jackson ($9,000/$6,800)

Jackson delivered a strong fantasy line in his first game back, ending Week 9 as the QB9 (25.6 points) in a high-scoring week at the position.

Jackson has scored at least 25 fantasy points in each of his four complete games.

Flores and Minnesota had a great game plan last week in moving Jared Goff off his spot, but when they failed to disrupt him, this defense was dissected.

Goff was 18 of 24 (75%) for 212 yards (8.8 Y/A) with 2 touchdowns when kept clean last weekend.

That has been the story for Minnesota in bulk this season.

When their exotic pressures are not working, they have been gashed.

Without pressure, they are allowing 8.5 yards per pass attempt (29th) and a 5.8% touchdown rate (20th).

They still allowed 19.4 fantasy points to Goff after allowing QB1 weeks to Justin Herbert (25.3 points) and Jalen Hurts (25.0) the previous two weeks.

Jared Goff ($7,800/$5,900)

For the season, Goff has an 83.3% completion rate with 8.6 Y/A with 17 touchdowns and 1 interception without pressure.

The offensive line injuries remain a concern, but this matchup lines up for Goff.

Washington is 21st in pressure rate over its past five games (33.9%) and has been ravaged by injuries on defense.

A week after placing Dorance Armstrong on injured reserve, Marshon Lattimore suffered an ACL injury on Sunday night.

Goff is eighth in the NFL in rate of play-action passing (27.5%).

Using play action, Goff is third in the NFL with 9.3 yards per pass attempt, completing 75.8% of his passes (5th).

Washington has crushed on play action this season, allowing 9.1 yards per pass attempt (26th), 13.8 yards per completion (31st), and a 10.4% touchdown rate (29th).

The Commanders are allowing 18.3 passing points per game, ahead of only the Cowboys (20.2).

Over their past four games, they have allowed QB1 scoring weeks to Caleb Williams (19.9 points), Dak Prescott (23.3), Patrick Mahomes (23), and Sam Darnold (27.2).

Drake Maye ($8,200/$6,400)

There is some volatility for Maye based on the matchup, but there is still plenty of upside in the overall game environment.

One area where Maye and New England can succeed is through play-action passing.

The Patriots are 18th in rate of play action (25.5%), but when they have used it, Maye has completed 70.8% of his passes (10th) for 8.7 Y/A (6th) and a 7.7% touchdown rate (10th).

Against play-action passes, Tampa Bay has allowed 9.8 yards per pass attempt (30th).

If Maye does run cold as a passer due to the aggressive nature of the Tampa Bay defense, he has an added out with his legs.

The Bucs are 29th in rushing yards allowed per game to quarterbacks.

The only quarterbacks they faced who did not have double-digit rushing yards were Sam Darnold and Jared Goff.
