Top NFL Week 3 Games to Bet On
NFL Week 3 features some quality matchups. Let's preview two of the best games this week and give our betting predictions.
Sunday | 1:00 PM ET | Los Angeles Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles (-3.5, O/U 44.5)
Many saw the Los Angeles Rams as a viable Super Bowl pick this year due to how they played the Eagles in last year's playoffs. Even with Saquon Barkley hitting huge runs and the Rams falling behind two touchdowns in the final minutes in the snow, this team was 13 yards shy of ending Philadelphia's dream year before Jalen Carter sacked Matthew Stafford.
But the 2-0 Rams come back with better weather, a confident Stafford, and Davante Adams, who caught his first touchdown with the team on Sunday. Puka Nacua always seems to be open, and the Eagles have lost a lot of veteran defensive talent and depth from last year's team, which could leave them vulnerable to Sean McVay's offense in this matchup.
All eyes are on how Jalen Hurts performs in this one after minimal passing displays in the first two weeks under a new offensive coordinator. Saquon Barkley ran wild on this defense in both games last year, so he'll probably be the focus for the Rams defensively. The Rams sacked Hurts seven times in January, so there needs to be a focus on pass protection this week against a talented front. This should be an important game for the NFC playoff race.
Sunday | 8:20 PM ET | Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Giants (+5.5, O/U 44.5)
Rarely do we ever talk about a must-win game in September, but the Kansas City Chiefs are facing an 0-3 start after suffering the first three-game losing streak of the Patrick Mahomes era. Granted, two of the losses were to the Eagles, and the Chiefs enter this game as a 5.5-point favorite despite being on the road. But don't sleep on Russell Wilson making life difficult on the Chiefs after he perked up for 450 passing yards last week, making use of excellent second-year wideout Malik Nabers.
The Giants looked like the offense that was averaging 345 passing yards and 35 points per game in the preseason. The pass rush is also talented, and the Chiefs are struggling to protect Mahomes right now as he looks to find a rhythm with his new receivers. We'll see if Xavier Worthy (shoulder) tries to play in this game with a harness or if they hold him out for another week, but it is a very interesting time for the Chiefs as Mahomes plays the first game since his 30th birthday on Wednesday. He's desperately looking for a win here.
Wilson is one of the few quarterbacks who can say he has multiple wins against Mahomes, including a 38-31 shootout on a Sunday night game with Seattle in 2018. All eyes will be on MetLife Stadium for this one.
