Best NFL Week 4 Games to Bet On

NFL Week 4 features several excellent matchups, from the Steelers vs. Vikings in Ireland on Sunday morning to the Packers vs. Cowboys Sunday night. Let's preview these two games and give our betting predictions.

Sunday | 4:05 PM ET | Indianapolis Colts vs. Los Angeles Rams (-3.5, O/U 48.5)

Few would have expected this to be a big non-conference game in Week 4. Still, the Indianapolis Colts are the surprise story of the young season, with Daniel Jones playing the best football of his career for a 3-0 team that has turned into the league's most efficient scoring juggernaut. According to ESPN's advanced metric, the Colts score on over 70% of their drives, and Jones is the only quarterback with a QBR above 80.0 this season. He is playing that well and has yet to turn the ball over. He's played with ruthless efficiency and has received plenty of help from a great back in Jonathan Taylor.

But the Colts get their stiffest test yet on the road against the Rams, who are coming off one of Sean McVay's worst losses ever after blowing a 26-7 lead in Philadelphia. Oddly enough, the passing game needed to be better with Matthew Stafford and his receivers, as the running game was dominant in that one. But the special teams obviously sold the win with two blocked field goals in the fourth quarter. The Colts had their own field goal fortune in their win over Denver when the Broncos were called for leverage to give them a redo on the game-winning attempt in Week 2, but otherwise, the Colts have won comfortably this year.

Still, it's a huge test for Jones going up against a talented front seven that can cause havoc with sacks. It's also a big test for the revamped Indy secondary, which hasn't faced a confident quarterback yet after beating Tua Tagovailoa, Bo Nix, and rookie Cam Ward. They'll have to contend with Davante Adams and Puka Nacua this week in what should be a great matchup with plenty of scoring opportunities.

🎯 Best Bet: Over 48.5. After watching the Rams blow that 26-7 lead last week, we're sticking with the total and taking the over as the Colts continue to score their share on the road.

Sunday | 8:20 PM ET | Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys (+6.5, O/U 47.5)

Everyone knows about the Micah Parsons trade, which will steal all the headlines here as he returns to Dallas for Sunday Night Football. He's had a big impact on the Green Bay defense, but he's arguably been a bigger net loss for the Cowboys as their defense has been dreadful through these three games. Things were so bad last week that they became the first defense that could not sack Caleb Williams even once in his 20th NFL game in Chicago. He threw for four touchdowns, as the Cowboys simply don't have a pass rush, and the defensive backs are being hung out to dry.

But it's not all rainbows and happy days for the Packers. They blew a 10-0 lead in Cleveland in the biggest upset so far this season after Jordan Love threw a terrible interception late in the game, then the Browns blocked a go-ahead field goal by Green Bay before getting their own special kick to win the game. The Packers blew a golden opportunity to stay undefeated and on pace with the Eagles for the No. 1 seed. They still share the same Super Bowl odds with Philadelphia, but that 13-10 loss to Cleveland certainly gives some pause to just how great this team can be this year.

The good news for Green Bay is that its defense may not have to deal with Dallas wideout CeeDee Lamb in this matchup after he left Sunday's game with an ankle sprain that could knock him out of action for the next few weeks. But it's about the defense finding some stops in this one against a Green Bay team coached by Matt LaFleur that is used to performing well in Big D. Expect plenty of shots of owner Jerry Jones in the booth all night.

🎯 Best Bet: Over 47.5. Look for Green Bay's offense to perk up against that poor Dallas defense, and the Cowboys will help push it over the total with Dak Prescott throwing often.
