Best Football Games to Bet On This Weekend

There are some really great games in college football and the NFL this weekend. We have a preview of two of the top matchups, which you can use your sportsbook bonuses on this weekend.

Saturday | 7:30 PM ET | Texas Longhorns vs. Georgia Bulldogs (-6.5, O/U 50.5)

We get another top 10 SEC showdown with heavy playoff implications as the No. 10 Texas Longhorns (7-2) take on the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs (8-1) in Georgia. This is a rematch of last year's SEC Championship Game, which Georgia won 22-19 in overtime. That was a slugfest, too, in a game where Gunner Stockton did play some quarterback (12-of-16 for 71 yards and a pick) after starter Carson Beck was injured. Quinn Ewers threw for 358 yards for Texas but was intercepted twice in the loss.

That came on the heels of the regular-season meeting, which Georgia won 30-15, where Beck threw 3 interceptions and Texas again struggled to score. Basically, what we're getting at is you should expect the defenses to thrive this weekend. They're both still really good as the Longhorns are 11th in the nation, allowing 16.4 points per game. Their pass rush is great, and the run defense even greater (78.2 yards per game and 2.4 yards per carry against), and can make it a long day for Stockton, this year's starting quarterback.

Georgia obviously has home-field advantage and is still No. 23 in scoring defense. The Bulldogs own the ground game too, allowing just 100.2 rushing yards per game and limiting gains to 3.1 yards per carry. That can make it even tougher on a subpar Texas running game, putting more pressure on Arch Manning to deliver on the road. We've seen Manning improve in recent weeks, and he's gone over 325 yards with 3 touchdown passes in each of his last two games, which include wins over Vanderbilt and Mississippi State.

However, we've seen Texas struggle on the road against physical defenses this year, including the 14-7 loss at No. 1 Ohio State and a 29-21 loss to Florida. Georgia has lost at home to Alabama (24-21) this year, but it's going to take a very special performance from Manning and his defense to steal this one as the road underdog. But it should be exciting to watch.

Sunday| 4:25 PM ET | Kansas City Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos (+3.5, O/U 45)

The playoffs might be starting early for the Kansas City Chiefs, who are just 5-4 while the Denver Broncos are 8-2. If the Chiefs want to win the AFC West for the 10th year in a row, they probably have to win this game. Yet despite the difference in records for these teams, the Chiefs are a road favorite. Patrick Mahomes is 13-1 against Denver, but the defense rarely makes it easy on him. This might be the best Denver defense he's ever faced, thanks to the pass rush that has 46 sacks, 18 more than any other unit going into Week 11. That can certainly make up for the absence of injured corner Patrick Surtain II.

But the Chiefs are getting a huge boost in the return of rookie left tackle Josh Simmons, who left the team for a month to tend to personal matters. He's back to practice, and so is right tackle Jawaan Taylor after Mahomes was scrambling for his life in Buffalo with two backup tackles the last time we saw the Chiefs in action. We know this team has been blown out in Super Bowls against great pass rushes when they had multiple linemen out, so it's huge news for Simmons and Taylor to be back in the lineup. Rashee Rice should also eat more with Surtain out in the secondary.

The key is for Mahomes to get rid of the ball quickly to negate the pass rush by Denver, which excels at producing quick pressures. In Buffalo, Mahomes held the ball for over 3.0 seconds on average for the first time this season, a key statistic that has typically been used to beat him in recent years. He was also throwing his average pass more than 14 yards down the field, so the Chiefs need to get back to a rhythm passing game, a short passing game to negate the pressure the Broncos are bringing.

On the other side, Bo Nix played very well against Kansas City last year and would have swept them if his field goal unit hadn't gotten blocked on a 35-yard field goal in a 16-14 loss at Arrowhead. That's the only time Mahomes has been held under 17 points in his last 33 starts, by the way. But it should be noted that Nix beat up on Kansas City's backups in a 38-0 rout in Week 18 last year to make the playoffs. The Chiefs should be healthy and ready to go coming off their bye week, and they are 6-1 in the regular season after a bye in the Mahomes era.

Nix has not played well in many quarters this year, but the Broncos are still 8-2 thanks to four fourth-quarter comeback wins. The Chiefs are 0-4 in one-score games this year after winning a record 17 straight going back to 2023. However, they've never lost five straight one-score games with Mahomes, and they know how to step it up after a bye and in the big games. The Broncos can prove a lot with a win, but it's still hard not to trust the Chiefs in a very important AFC game.
