Best NFL Week 12 Games to Bet On

The NFL's Week 12 schedule is another strong one, featuring several high-profile matchups. Here are our two favorite bets of the week and an in-depth preview of each game.

Sunday | 1:00 PM ET | Indianapolis Colts vs. Kansas City Chiefs (-3.5, O/U 49.5)

The sportsbooks really don't want to give up on the Chiefs, installing them as a 3.5-point home favorite despite a fifth-straight loss in a one-score game to a playoff-caliber team this year. Meanwhile, the Colts are 8-2, coming off a bye week, and they have the No. 1 offense in the league, which has bought some time for corner Sauce Gardner to learn the defense. They pose an incredible threat to dropping the Chiefs under .500 in a stacked AFC that could keep them out of the playoffs period. Forget just losing the AFC West crown for the first time since 2015.

But it is hard to bet against the Chiefs when you see how close they are in these games, and it's just a matter of someone needing to make a play in a big moment like they have in years past. It just isn't happening this year, whether it's Travis Kelce turning a go-ahead touchdown at the goal line against Philadelphia into an interception, the defense making Trevor Lawrence look like Steve Young on a game-winning drive, or giving up a 3rd-and-15 conversion to Bo Nix in Denver with no sense of a pass rush. All the moments the Chiefs usually win in past years that just aren't going their way this season.

The Colts are an unfamiliar opponent, as they last met in 2022, before Shane Steichen became their head coach. The Chiefs usually do well against top-tier running backs like Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry, though Jonathan Taylor is playing on a whole different level right now. However, the concern for the Colts is that Daniel Jones has been sacked 12 times in the last two games, following a relatively low sack rate earlier this season. The Chiefs can be a big blitzing team if they ever want to get pressure, and they usually play better on defense at home with the loud crowd. With Jones regressing a bit to his New York days with the sacks and turnovers, it will be interesting to watch this matchup.

As for the other side of the ball, the Chiefs need to do something different after two underwhelming performances by the Patrick Mahomes-led offense in Buffalo and Denver. Have Mahomes use his legs more on scrambles. Get the ball out quicker to those wide receivers; they couldn't wait to get back, and now rarely use it. Get more snaps to Tyquan Thornton, who has been their most effective wideout all year, but barely plays with Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy back. Andy Reid needs to do something here, given his legacy as an offensive genius, and it doesn't help that Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo has had his number in the past in those battles with the Bengals from 2021 to 2024.

It should be an exciting game and a huge one for the AFC playoff standings.

Sunday | 4:05 PM ET | Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys (+3.5, O/U 47.5)

We should have known this would be a weird Philadelphia season after opening night when star defender Jalen Carter was ejected for spitting at Dak Prescott before the first snap from scrimmage. That loss of Carter helped the Cowboys get some things going on the ground early, but with CeeDee Lamb dropping some balls, they never scored after halftime. The Eagles also scored just a field goal in a 24-20 win, setting the tone for a season of low-scoring games for the Eagles that they mostly won on their way to 8-2 and another shot at a No. 1 seed in the NFC.

It would also be the first time since 2004 that a team repeated as NFC East champions, so this is really Dallas' last stand for that if they want any shot. However, while the Cowboys looked very good on Monday night, that's mainly because the Raiders are a bottom-three team in the NFL this year, alongside the Jets and Titans. They can't protect Geno Smith, so the pass rush for Dallas looked much better than it likely will in this matchup. The Eagles might even perk up on offense with the matchup they have here.

But if it is another ugly Philadelphia game, they've shown they're very comfortable with winning this way. Jalen Hurts has only thrown one interception all year, and he can scramble for big plays in key moments. He knows he can trust his defense, which has been lights out in holding the Packers and Lions, two very good offenses, to a grand total of 16 points over the last two games. The Cowboys have good weapons with George Pickens exploding down there this year, but the Eagles have the defensive backs to deal with them. Dak Prescott also usually doesn't play that great against the great teams.

It could be a good one, but we think the Eagles pull it out again and inch even closer to another NFC East title.
