Who has the #1 Pick in the 2022 NFL Draft?

The Jacksonville Jaguars have the first pick in the NFL draft this year.

What player has the best odds to be selected #1 in the 2022 NFL Draft?

  • Aidan Hutchinson (EDGE, Michigan) -225
  • Travon Walker (EDGE, Georgia) +300
  • Evan Neal (OT, Alabama) +1200

According to the most recent mock draft from Ryan McCrystal, Aidan Hutchinson will be selected #1 by the Jaguars.

According to the most recent mock draft from Brendan Donahue, Travon Walker will be selected with the #1 pick.

Why Aidan Hutchinson will be the #1 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft

The Jaguars’ pass rush was respectable last season, thanks to Josh Allen, and adding another stud like Aidan Hutchinson could make the unit a legitimate strength.

Michigan’s Hutchinson and Kayvon Thibodeaux (Oregon) are both strong candidates at the EDGE position. Thibodeaux is the better athlete and probably brings more versatility, but Hutchinson will be considered the safer selection due to concerns over Thibideaux’s motor and work ethic.

A rebuilding organization like Jacksonville should feel more comfortable taking the safer route by selecting Hutchinson with the #1 pick in the draft.

Why Travon Walker will be the #1 pick in the 2022 Draft

Travon Walker (EDGE, Georgia) is a versatile weapon on the defensive line, playing on the edge on early downs and often shifting inside on passing downs in the Georgia defense.

His modest pass-rush production is an indication of a lower ceiling than Hutchinson or Thibodeaux, but Walker’s versatility also sets a high floor, which may be appealing to a rebuilding franchise like Jacksonville.

Why Aidan Hutchinson will be the #1 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft

After using the first overall pick in the 2021 draft on Trevor Lawrence, the Jaguars may use this year’s #1pick on protecting their franchise quarterback.

The 6’7” 350 pound Evan Neal (OT) has all the physical tools you look for and has shown versatility having played not only both right and left tackle but also guard at Alabama.

Regardless if Cam Robinson is back or not, the Jaguars need to upgrade the offensive line and Neal is a plug and play day one starter.
