- The 49ers have led for 28.9% of their offensive snaps, 23rd in the league and the lowest rate among teams with a winning record.
- San Francisco has turned the ball over on 14.8% of their drives, ahead of only the Raiders (16%).
- Giants games are averaging 707.6 combined yards per game, 4th most in the league.
- San Francisco games are averaging 685.8 combined yards per game, 9th most.
- The 49ers have allowed 12 passing plays of 30-plus yards, ahead of only the Cowboys (15).
- The 49ers have a 37.1% success rate on rushing plays (28th) compared to a 49.5% success rate on passing plays (6th).
- Only 4.4% of San Francisco's plays have gained 20 or more yards, 29th in the league.
- The 49ers are one of two teams (the Saints being the other) without a run of 20-plus yards.
- 18.7% of the runs against the Giants have gained 10 or more yards, the highest rate in the league.
- The Giants average 1.7 fewer yards per rushing play than their opponents, the worst margin in the league.
- The Giants have a 47.1% third-down conversion rate (6th) and a 64.7% red zone touchdown rate (10th) since Jaxson Dart took over.
- Prior to Dart starting, New York had converted 27.5% of their third downs (31st) and turned 20% of their red zone trips into touchdowns (31st).
Trust = spike production for that player
Quarterback
Jaxson Dart: Dart has been a reliable fantasy asset since taking over as the starter.
He has scored at least 15 fantasy points in all five starts, with scoring weeks as QB10, QB20, QB3, QB2, and QB13.
This is a good spot for Dart to sustain production as an upside option as a fringe QB1.
The most significant issue for Dart since taking over has been dealing with pressure.
He has completed only 43.9% of his passes (18 of 41) under pressure with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions.
When kept clean, Dart has completed 66.3% of his passes with 7 touchdowns and 1 interception.
That is relevant here because the 49ers have a depleted pass rush.
They are 27th in pressure rate (30.7%) for the season, which has been worse since losing Nick Bosa (28.4%).
They have a 3.2% sack rate, 31st in the league.
Without Bryce Huff on the field, they only pressured C.J. Stroud on 23.3% of his dropbacks on Sunday.
Without pressure, Stroud was 24 of 32 (75%) for 259 yards (8.1 Y/A).
Brock Purdy: We are entering the week under the premise that this will be the week Purdy returns, but circle back here if we are trending towards getting another start for Mac Jones.
A turf toe injury has limited Purdy to only two appearances this season.
He was the QB16 (16.8 points) and QB16 (17.7 points) in those games against the Seahawks and Jaguars.
If Purdy is good to go for Sunday, he is in the back-end QB1 range.
I would be more bullish, but the missed time and the toe injury still cast a shadow here.
Both of those defenses have been toward the front of the league, but this is a more favorable spot.
On the small sample we have with Purdy this season, he has been impacted by pressure.
When pressured, he has completed 14 of 28 passes (50%) for 5.5 Y/A with 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions for a 39.1 rating.
The Giants are 20th in pressure rate (34.5%).
Without pressure, they have allowed a 5.7% touchdown rate (20th).
Without pressure, Purdy has completed 34 of 45 passes (75.6%) for 9.6 yards per pass attempt and a 117.9 rating.
The Giants have an aggressive defense, playing man coverage 37.5% of the time (second in the league).
Kyle Shanahan offenses have thrived on exploiting over-aggressive defenses.
Since Purdy entered the league, he has led the league with 8.8 Y/A against man coverage.
Purdy has been blitzed on a league-low 15.2% of his dropbacks.
The Giants have blitzed 26.5% of the time (13th).
When blitzed, Purdy is second in the league with 9.7 Y/A since he entered the league.
The Giants came into Week 8 banged up, missing starters Paulson Adebo and Jevon Holland in the secondary.
They allowed 8.9 yards per pass attempt and 4 touchdowns to Jalen Hurts.
If those players are out another week, that is another path for Purdy to succeed.
