October football got off to a good start.

Week 5 saw offenses set season highs in yards per play (5.8), points per drive (2.31), the percentage of plays of 10 or more yards (22%), and the percentage of plays to gain 20 or more yards (6.1%).

The season is still fresh.

We are working with an ever-growing sample size.

Although we still feel as though we are building and in constant motion, as we enter Week 6, we are fully transitioning into midseason for regular fantasy leagues.

After this week, one-third of the NFL regular season will be in the books.

By now, we know where we stand and where our strengths and weaknesses are for seasonal leagues.

The time to aggressively calibrate your roster is in full swing.

We had more injuries this past week that can shake up leagues.

Omarion Hampton was placed on injured reserve and will miss at least the next four games.

With Hampton now being shelved, he becomes the 14th player selected in the top 48 this summer in PPR formats who has already missed at least one game through five weeks or been placed on injured reserve.

We do only have two teams on bye this week, the Vikings and Texans.

Another reminder: we have another game in London this weekend between the Jets and Broncos.

Ensure your roster is updated for that early kickoff on Sunday morning.

We also have two more gamers on Monday Night Football this week.

The more information we acquire, the more robust our evidence-based approach can be.

We also have a ton of football left to go.

This article will be updated throughout the week to reflect major news or injury implications.

I encourage you to use the game-by-game tables and data points here in conjunction with the player rankings that will be available every Wednesday.

Enjoy the games!
