- The Packers have outscored opponents 31 to 6 in the first half of games to open the year, the best margin in the league.
- The Packers are averaging 4.0 more yards per passing play than their opponents, the best rate in the league.
- Green Bay has a 62.8% success rate on defense, the highest rate through two weeks.
- 63% of Cleveland's sets of downs have reached third down, 31st in the league.
- The Packers are averaging 6.1 yards per play on early downs, fifth in the league.
- Cleveland is averaging 4.1 yards per play on early downs, 29th in the league.
- Green Bay has allowed 3.9 yards per play on early downs, the fewest in the league.
Trust = spike production for that player
Quarterback
Jordan Love: Love has kicked off the season with solid outings as the QB17 (15.9 points) and QB11 (20.9 points).
He has thrown multiple passing touchdowns in each game, averaging 8.5 and 9.4 yards per game.
Love has been blitzed on 45.6% of his dropbacks, the second-highest rate in the league.
Against the blitz, Love is 16 of 23 (69.6%) for 11.6 yards per attempt and 3 touchdowns.
He has not been as strong when teams have been less aggressive.
When he has not been blitzed, Love has completed 63.3% of his passes (22nd) for 7.1 Y/A (12th) with a touchdown.
Love has thrown all 4 of his passing touchdowns against man coverage.
The Browns lead the NFL in rate of man coverage (52.9%) and are 10th in blitz rate (32.8%).
That opens the door for Love to remain efficient.
Love has plenty of upside per attempt, but I do prefer to use Love as a higher-end QB2 since we have seen Green Bay throttle down when playing from ahead, going back to last season.
This year, the Packers have a 39.6% dropback rate in the second half of games, 31st in the league.
They have a 46.3% dropback rate playing with the lead (22nd).
Joe Flacco: Flacco could not get anything going on Sunday, throwing for 4.4 yards per pass attempt and completing 55.6% of his passes.
Flacco has opened the year as the QB20 (12.2 points) and QB28 (8.8 points).
He was pulled at the tail end of Sunday’s game.
It feels as if we are a matter of games away from Dillon Gabriel getting a start, but Cleveland likely wants to get through this rogue’s gallery of tough opponents with Green Bay this week and then Detroit and Minnesota.
Flacco would be a QB2 if this were a good matchup, but this is an awful one.
Through two weeks, the Packers have shut down the Lions and Commanders, allowing a league-low 5.3 yards per pass attempt.
