- Green Bay gained 15.8% of its yards in Week 1 via rushing, its lowest rate in a game since Week 4 of 2023.
- The Packers had a pass rate over expectation of 6.1% (6th). In 2025, that was -2.1%, 24th in the league.
- 76.2% of the Green Bay completions in Week 1 resulted in a first down or touchdown, the highest rate in the league. The league average was 51.8%.
- The Jets had a 17:32 edge in time of possession in Week 1, the largest differential in the league.

Packers vs. Jets Fantasy Quarterback Preview
Jordan Love
It was an uneven output against a tough defense, but Love was able to put together a QB11 scoring week (19.5 points) to kick off the season.
Love connected on just 50% of his passes (the lowest rate of all qualifying passers in Week 1) with a league-high 23.8% inaccurate target rate.
But when he did complete passes, they were chunk gains.
Love threw for 387 yards.
Despite the off-target rates, he averaged 9.2 yards per pass attempt (7th) and 18.4 yards per completion (2nd).
We had a lot of questions about the Green Bay offensive line entering the season, and Brian Flores tested them in Week 1.
Love was blitzed on a league-high 73.9% of his dropbacks and was pressured on a league-high 54.3% of his dropbacks.
When pressured, Love was 8 of 21 (38.1%) for 166 yards (7.9 Y/A) with an interception and 4 sacks.
When kept clean, he was 13 of 21 (61.9%) for 221 yards (10.5 Y/A) with 2 touchdowns.
Those splits were present last season.
Expecting the Packers to struggle to run the ball in Week 1 and potentially beyond in the short term, Green Bay was pushed to throw more than previous versions of this offense.
Love threw the ball 42 times, the fourth-most of his career.
The game script and matchup are more favorable here, but the Packers still need to prove they can run the ball.
Until they do, I believe that this offense will run through Love and the passing game.
That puts Love in play as a fringe QB1 and high-end QB2 in Week 2.
The Jets defense had a strong showing in Week 1, but we need to expand their sample size beyond the Titans.
New York ranked sixth in passing points allowed per attempt in Week 1, up from 30th in that department in 2025.
The Jets posted a 40% pressure rate (12th) in Week 1 after a league-low 28.3% rate in 2025.
They allowed a league-low 4.4 yards per pass attempt after allowing 7.5 Y/A in 2025 (25th).
They did overhaul this defense, but we need to see them against a non-Cam Ward passer.
We will get more clarity here on how much of a jump they have made.
The Jets played Cover 2 at the second-highest rate in the league, trailing only the Vikings, whom Love just faced.
Love was 7 of 11 for 109 yards (9.9 Y/A) against Cover 2 in Week 1.
Geno Smith
Geno did his job in Week 1, completing 19 of 24 passes (79.2%) for 215 yards (9.0 Y/A) against the Titans.
He didn't throw a touchdown to help his fantasy day, but he also didn't take a sack or throw an interception.
Smith was only pressured on 23.1% of his dropbacks (5th-lowest rate).
Smith is still a floor-based QB2 for fantasy gamers.
The Jets should be pushed more here to raise the volume, but this is also a tougher matchup.
We still need to see more from the Green Bay defense since they faced Carson Wentz.
In Week 1, they allowed a 62.5% completion rate (13th) for 6.3 yards per pass attempt (12th), but they did allow 3 touchdown passes to Wentz.
