- The 49ers averaged 43.8 yards per drive in Week 1, second in the league.
- San Francisco faced third and long (needing 7 or more yards) on a league-low 3.4% of sets of downs in Week 1. The league average was 19%.
- The 49ers averaged 3.2 yards needed to gain on third downs in Week 1, the fewest in the league.
- Miami averaged 21.1 yards per possession in Week 1, 30th in the league.
- The Dolphins had the lowest success rate per passing play on offense in Week 1 (28.1%).
- The Dolphins were 31st in success rate per rushing play on offense in Week 1 (22.2%).

Dolphins vs. 49ers Fantasy Quarterback Preview
Brock Purdy (TRUST)
Purdy got off to a strong start in Australia, completing 25 of 34 passes (73.5%) for 205 yards and 3 touchdowns.
He threw an interception but made it back with 29 yards rushing.
Purdy ended Week 1 as the QB10 (21.1 points).
He has now averaged 20.5 points per game over his past eight regular-season starts since coming back from injury last year.
There may be some weird impact from traveling back from Australia.
We can't really quantify that, but the 49ers landed back home last Friday.
As long as nothing wonky is in play due to the travel, this is a great setup for Purdy and the offense.
I believe the way to play the moving parts this week in the offense is to just play it through Purdy.
This young Miami defense just allowed 3 passing touchdowns to Kirk Cousins.
They struggled to get to Cousins, creating a 22.6% pressure rate (29th) without a sack.
Since entering the league, Purdy ranks second in the NFL with a 114.6 rating from a clean pocket, averaging a league-high 9.4 yards per pass attempt with a 74.7% completion rate (4th) and a 6.3% touchdown rate (4th).
Miami played sub-packages at a league-low 31% rate in Week 1.
That is what Kyle Shanahan wants to see.
Since Purdy entered the league in 2022, he has completed 71% of his passes (5th) for 9.7 yards per pass attempt (3rd) with an 8.3% touchdown rate (6th) against base defenses.
He has thrown 33 passing touchdowns against those defenses, third in the NFL since he joined the league.
Malik Willis
Making his first start with Miami, Willis was a volatile passer.
He completed 55.6% (15 of 27) of his passes, which was 28th in the league.
But as we saw in Willis going back to college, he is willing to push the ball downfield.
He led the league in rate of throws of 15 or more yards downfield (44%).
The league average in Week 1 was 22.8%.
That led to some chunk gains.
Willis averaged 14.7 yards per completion, which was fifth in the league.
We knew he would run.
Willis rushed 6 times for 39 yards and a touchdown.
That added up to a QB14 (16.7 points) week.
The rushing touchdown did some lifting, but that is what makes Willis a steady, floor-based QB2.
He'll offer per-attempt upside that will lead to a handful of spike weeks and a floor through his legs.
This is more of the latter.
The San Francisco defense surprised in Week 1, holding Matthew Stafford to 155 passing yards and zero touchdowns (QB32 in fantasy scoring).
Is Raheem Morris the Stafford kryptonite?
The 49ers did not register a sack on Stafford, but they did have a 44.8% pressure rate (7th in the league in Week 1).
That is a huge difference from 2025, when they had a 30.3% pressure rate (30th).
They got Nick Bosa back, but Osa Odighizuwa, added from Dallas this offseason, posted a team-high 5 pressures in Week 1.
