- Seattle has converted a league-worst 13.3% (4 of 30) of their third-and-long situations (needing 7-plus yards).
- The Seahawks lead the NFL in the rate of plays that gain 10 or more yards (25.5%) and 20 or more yards (8.7%).
- Jacksonville has trailed for 9.7% of its second-half snaps, first in the league.
- Seattle has trailed for 22.4% of their offensive snaps in the second half, the second-highest percentage in the league.
- Seattle has allowed a league-low 4.1% of runs against them to gain 10 or more yards.
Trust = spike production for that player
Quarterback
Sam Darnold: Darnold stayed hot on Sunday, setting season highs in completions (28), attempts (34), passing yards (341), and touchdowns (4).
His afternoon did end on a sour note with an interception, but Darnold has now thrown for at least 8.9 yards per pass attempt in four straight games with multiple touchdown passes in three of his past four.
Only three other quarterbacks have thrown for at least 8.9 Y/A in four straight games since 2020.
The last time a player achieved this feat five weeks in a row was Aaron Rodgers in 2011.
He now leads the NFL with 9.3 Y/A.
That rate climbs to 13.3 Y/A when using play action.
Darnold is averaging a league-high 19.1 yards per completion using play action.
The Jaguars have been more vulnerable to the play action pass.
They are allowing 8.3 Y/A (20th) and a 72.1% completion rate (22nd) on play action passes compared to a 59.1% completion rate (4th) and 6.1 yards per attempt (8th) on non-play action passes.
For as good as Darnold has been, last week was still his first spike week over 20 points as a fantasy scorer.
Darnold has established himself as a viable QB2 with QB1 upside when he runs hot in the touchdown department.
It was good to see Seattle pushed to throw, something that should hold up here with them as road underdogs.
Trevor Lawrence: Lawrence had his best outing of the season on Monday night, ending the week as QB6 (26.2 points).
Lawrence threw an interception and lost a fumble attempting to get the ball over the goal line on a quarterback sneak, but he still ended up with his best fantasy outing of the season on the strength of his legs.
Lawrence rushed 10 times for 54 yards and 2 touchdowns, the second of which won the game when Lawrence fell in the backfield, collected himself, and then adlibbed his way into the end zone after the play was mushed.
He threw for a season-high 8.8 yards per pass attempt, even though his legs carried him for fantasy.
It was Lawrence’s first scoring week higher than QB15, coming in a fashion that is not reliable.
He is still a QB2 for fantasy, but could run into more favorable conditions based on who is available for Seattle this weekend.
Down a plethora of defensive contributors last week, the Seattle pass defense was shredded by Baker Mayfield.
Coming into Week 5, Seattle had allowed a 76.4 rating (4th) and 6.0 Y/A (7th).
Mayfield carved them up for 370 yards passing, throwing only 4 incompletions.
Seattle was without Demarcus Lawrence, Devon Witherspoon, and Julian Love, losing Riq Woolen and Derick Hall in the game.
Woolen is in concussion protocol, and Hall is expected to miss a “couple of games” per Mike Macdonald.
Macdonald said he was hopeful that Lawrence, Love, and Witherspoon would practice this week, but nothing is official regarding their return.
If Seattle is down all of those pieces this week, then Lawrence gets a lift as a QB2 and potential streamer in 1QB formats.
