2025 NFL Wide Receiver & Tight End Rankings, All 32 Teams

As a feature in the 2025 Sharp Football Preview Book, the Sharp Football Analysis team ranked positional units across the league for the 2025 season.

The ranking guidelines were specific to the voter, with the only requirement that the focus be on the upcoming season only, not the future outlook.

With a combination of numbers, film, and projections, the rankings were averaged for quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers/tight ends, offensive line, defensive front seven, defensive secondary, and head coach.

Score based on average ranks of positional unit (on a 100-point scale) for all 32 teams, from Sharp Football staff voters. If all voters had a team at #1, that score would be 100.

What team has the best wide receivers and tight ends in the NFL?

32. Tennessee Titans

Supporting your No. 1 overall pick with the league’s worst unit of pass catchers seems ill-advised. Tennessee’s pass catchers were ranked no higher than 30th on any ballot. Someone is going to have to unexpectedly step up to take some attention off Calvin Ridley

30. New England Patriots

New England pass catchers ranked dead last on half of our ballots, but some are holding out hope for Stefon Diggs and rookie Kyle Williams providing a spark. If Diggs can return to full strength from his torn ACL, perhaps he’ll be the weapon Drake Maye needs to take this passing attack to the next level.

30. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers drafted Tetairoa McMillan in the first round in hopes of shoring up their receiving corps. They also need Adam Thielen to continue to play at a high level heading into his age-35 season.

29. New Orleans Saints

The Saints dropped four spots in our rankings, falling to 29. Both starting receivers, Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, missed significant time last season.

28. New York Jets

Garrett Wilson is supremely talented, but he can’t do it alone. When on the field with Davante Adams last year, Wilson caught 44% of his targets at 15 or more yards downfield. Without Adams, that rate was just 33%. Without anyone else to distract the defense, it’s too easy to focus on Wilson.

27. Pittsburgh Steelers

Votes for the Pittsburgh pass catchers ranged from 19th to 32nd. DK Metcalf is an upgrade over George Pickens, but not by enough to make up for the lack of talent elsewhere in the receiving corps.

26. Cleveland Browns

Votes for Cleveland's pass catchers ranged from 21st to 28th. Cedric Tillman is the team’s hope for exceeding expectations. In four full contests after the Amari Cooper trade and before his injury, he averaged six catches for 76 yards per game.

25. Buffalo Bills

Buffalo improved its depth at wide receiver with the additions of Josh Palmer and Elijah Moore, but the lack of a proven go-to weapon is concerning. Perhaps Keon Coleman will make the leap this year, but he caught just 64% of his catchable targets at 10 or more yards downfield last season, ranked 66th out of 72 qualifiers.

24. Denver Broncos

On throws 10 or more yards downfield, Broncos pass catchers only caught just 70% of their catchable targets last year, ranked 27th. And yet, Denver decided to just run it back with the same crew, only adding third-round pick Pat Bryant and journeyman Trent Sherfield

21. New York Giants

Despite coming in at 21, the Giants receiving corps is their highest-ranked offensive group thanks to Malik Nabers stellar rookie season.

21. Los Angeles Chargers

Although Ladd McConkey was a bright spot on the unit last year, Chargers pass catchers created a lot of problems for the offense. 21% of incompletions were due to wide receiver error, the league’s fifth highest rate. Rookie Tre Harris and free agent Mike Williams will try to help turn things around.

21. Jacksonville Jaguars

Votes for the Jacksonville pass catchers ranged from 11th to 30th. The addition of Travis Hunter likely added to the uncertainty 一 how much and how effectively will he play wide receiver as a rookie? But even if Hunter lives up to expectations, the depth behind him and Brian Thomas Jr. is atrocious.

20. Las Vegas Raiders

Despite poor quarterback play, Raiders receivers were quietly reliable last year. Their 14 drops were tied for the fourth fewest in the league. If rookies Jack Bech or Dont’e Thornton Jr. make an immediate impact, this unit could develop into a legitimate area of strength.

19. Seattle Seahawks

The second biggest move Seattle made this offseason was the trade of DK Metcalf to the Steelers and the subsequent signing of former division rival Cooper Kupp to replace him. Tyler Lockett also left in free agency. As a result, the receiving corps dropped 13 spots in our rankings, down to 19th this year.

18. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts pass catchers were one of the most divisive units among our panel, as votes were cast ranging from 10th to 29th. The quarterback situation likely played a role, as it’s hard to sort out just how talented this unit is when they’re lacking someone to consistently get them the ball downfield.

17. Houston Texans

Votes for Houston’s receiving corps ranged from 14th to 24th. There’s certainly plenty of depth, but to reach the high end of that spectrum, the Texans will need immediate production from rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel

16. Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals finished at 16 in our receiver rankings, eight spots higher than the same group finished a year ago. Marvin Harrison Jr. didn’t have the breakout rookie season that we expected, but tight end Trey McBride hit 1,000 yards for the first time in his career.

15. San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers traded Deebo Samuel in the offseason, and Brandon Aiyuk is still recovering from a torn ACL. That leaves Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings as the top healthy receivers on San Francisco’s roster.

14. Washington Commanders

The addition of Deebo Samuel was enough to move the Washington receiving corps up seven spots to 14. Samuel will be paired with Terry McLaurin, who is coming off his fifth straight 1,000-yard season.

13. Green Bay Packers

The Packers spread the ball around in 2024, with four different receivers getting 70 targets, but the overall depth of their receiving corps didn’t impress our panel much as they fell two spots in our rankings to 13th. Green Bay drafted Matthew Golden in the first round to hopefully give them a true No. 1 receiver.

12. Baltimore Ravens

Votes for Baltimore were all over the map, ranging from sixth to 20th. The high end of that spectrum is certainly attainable if Derrick Henry shares his fountain of youth with DeAndre Hopkins. Ravens wide receivers other than Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman caught just five passes at 15 or more yards downfield last year, so there’s certainly room for Hopkins to produce as a third option.

11. Atlanta Falcons

The duo of Drake London and Darnell Mooney was good enough to push the Falcons to 11th in our rankings, but the depth is shaky after the top two guys. Kyle Pitts posted a career low 35.4 yards per game in 2024.

10. Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City’s pass catchers were a divisive unit, with votes ranging from fifth to 18th. There are certainly some explosive weapons, and yet, even with Patrick Mahomes as their quarterback, this unit only produced 20 or more yards on 10% of their receptions last year, ranked 28th.

9. Miami Dolphins

Miami’s pass catchers maintained a spot in the top 10 but fell five slots from last year. The lack of depth behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle is a concern. All other Dolphins wide receivers averaged just 23.7 receiving yards per game while catching 60% of their targets.

8. Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys jumped up five spots thanks to the trade for George Pickens. Pickens will hopefully take some pressure off CeeDee Lamb after he posted 150 targets for the third straight season.

7. Chicago Bears

The receiving corps was the Bears' highest-ranked group, finishing seventh in our voting. D.J. Moore remains the team’s top target, but they have a lot of young talent with Rome Odunze, Colston Loveland, and Luther Burden III

6. Los Angeles Rams

The Rams swapped out Cooper Kupp for Davante Adams to pair with Puka Nacua. The result is a finish at six in our rankings, the second highest ranking for any Rams unit.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Our panel is bullish on the Buccaneers receiving corps, provided they stay healthy. Tampa Bay also drafted Emeka Egbuka in the first round to help ease the workload from the aging vets.

4. Cincinnati Bengals

Votes for the Bengals ranged from second to seventh. The Ja’Marr Chase/Tee Higgins combo is clearly an elite duo, but is Andrei Iosivas or Jermaine Burton ready to elevate their play as a third option?

3. Minnesota Vikings

Justin Jefferson looked like his old self in 2024, playing all 17 games and topping 1,500 yards for the third time in four seasons. Jordan Addison and tight end T.J. Hockenson round out a Minnesota receiving corps that finished behind only Detroit and Philadelphia in our voting.

2. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles finished second in our receiver rankings. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith both missed four games last season, but they finished third and 20th among receivers in yards per route run. Dallas Goedert returns as well on a reworked contract.

1. Detroit Lions

The Lions finished as our top pass catching group, receiving two votes for the No. 1 slot and a pair of top-five votes. Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams both surpassed 1,000 yards in 2024, and Sam LaPorta had the sixth-most yards among tight ends in his second season.
