Eagles vs. Titans Fantasy Quarterback Preview

Jalen Hurts

Hurts had a solid Week 1 for gamers, finishing QB7 (24.7 points).

He completed only 14 of 25 passes (56%) for 203 yards (8.1 Y/A), but he threw 3 touchdowns and added 46 yards on the ground.

It was not always pretty, and this new offense under Sean Mannion ran into many of the shortcomings last year's offense had.

Particularly on early downs.

Hurts only had 9 dropbacks on first down, completing 3 of 6 passes for 0 yards.

He took a sack on one of those and scrambled on two more for 14 yards.

The Eagles ranked 26th in yards per play on first downs in 2025, which forced them to play from behind the sticks regularly.

It is just one game for a new offense, and Dan Quinn can still coach defense.

But the offense felt like it was waiting for the next splash play to bail them out rather than building a successful, complementary attack.

If they are going to be under center so much to run, they should at least work in some play action off it.

At least they did create those big plays.

They had 5 plays of 20 or more yards, including passes for 64, 43, and 31 yards.

Hurts himself added a 22-yard run.

Hurts was under center more than last season, but it was largely cosmetic for rushing plays.

He was under center for 34% of his snaps (21st), but just 5 of those were dropbacks.

The Eagles used play action on just 8% of the time, the lowest rate in the league.

A learning curve is to be expected, and the Eagles have another opponent they should be able to exploit.

The Titans put up next to zero fight against Geno Smith and the Jets in Week 1.

Smith completed 79.2% of his passes (3rd in the league) for 9.0 yards per pass attempt (8th).

The Titans created pressure on just 23.1% of dropbacks (28th) and converted zero of their pressures into sacks.

Hurts is a QB1 option for Week 2; the question is how much of a ceiling can he cash in?

Hurts only has three top-six scoring weeks since the start of last season.

The implied team total here is just 23.25 points.

The Jets just scored 23 points on this Tennessee team.

We would love to see the Eagles destroy an inferior opponent and start building real momentum for us to believe in the upside case for Hurts and the surrounding talent in this offense.

Cam Ward

A new regime and new pass-catchers led to similar initial results for this passing game in Week 1 compared to a year ago.

Ward completed 19 of 32 passes (59.4%) for 140 yards (4.4 Y/A) with a touchdown.

He rushed 4 times for 21 yards, ending the week as the QB25 (11.7 points).

Ward had the fewest yards per pass attempt in the league in Week 1.

15.6% of his throws were inaccurate, which was 26th in the league.

18.8% of his pass attempts resulted in a first down or touchdown, ahead of only Cooper Rush (18.2%).

Ward is a back-end QB2 option here.

The Eagles allowed a 52.9% completion rate (2nd), 4.8 yards per pass attempt (3rd), and 9.1 yards per completion (9th) in Week 1.

They had a 40% pressure rate (12th) but managed only 1 sack on Jayden Daniels.

They allowed Daniels 31 rushing yards as a potential outlet for points.
