Top NFL Week 6 Games to Bet On

There are plenty of good NFL games in Week 6 to bet on. We've narrowed it down to two of our favorites along with a best bet prediction.

Sunday | 1:00 PM ET | Los Angeles Chargers vs. Miami Dolphins (+4.5, O/U 43.5)

The Dolphins have been an ideal opponent for offenses to shine this year, but we'll see how the Los Angeles Chargers (3-2) look after a long road trip and after losing their last two games. Justin Herbert is struggling, averaging 5.7 yards per attempt over the last three games as defenses are teeing off on him behind an offensive line with two backup tackles after injuries to Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt. The Chargers have also placed both running backs, Omarion Hampton and Najee Harris, on injured reserve, so this offense is just Herbert and his excellent trio of wide receivers.

But the Miami secondary has been ravaged by injuries, too, so there could be some huge advantages for Ladd McConkey, Keenan Allen, and Quentin Johnston this week. We need to see better protection for Herbert, and he should probably start using his legs more to mitigate the pressure around him.

On the other side of the ball, the Chargers still play hard defense under coach Jim Harbaugh. He'll see a Miami offense with an unreliable running game and no Tyreek Hill's speed to take the top off defenses. However, tight end Darren Waller is playing very well in his return to football with three touchdown catches in the last two weeks alone. Tua Tagovailoa has been hit or miss this season, but it wasn't his fault the Dolphins blew a 17-point lead in Carolina last week.

Some thought the Chargers were poised to win the AFC West after their 3-0 start, but injuries have certainly changed things. However, the Dolphins are a bad football team that's only been able to beat the winless Jets, so it has to be a week for Harbaugh and Herbert to get back on track and win this one comfortably.

🎯 Best Bet: Chargers -4.5. Herbert gets right against Miami's defense, and Tua makes mistakes to help the Chargers cover.

Monday | 8:15 PM ET | Chicago Bears vs. Washington Commanders (-4.5, O/U 50)

It's a rematch of last year's unforgettable finish when rookie Jayden Daniels uncorked a Hail Mary that was deflected and caught by Noah Brown in a stunning 18-12 win. It further led to the lore of Daniels' rookie season while it totally sunk the Bears, who went from 4-2 to 5-12 to end the season. It also led to the firing of coach Matt Eberflus, so it's now up to Ben Johnson to get the Bears (2-2) right out of their bye week.

Meanwhile, the Commanders got Daniels back from a knee injury last week, and he looked good in Los Angeles in an upset win where the Chargers only scored 10 points against Dan Quinn's defense. Daniels played well without Terry McLaurin and Brown available, and it's unclear if he'll have those receivers Monday night, or if he'll need to make do with Deebo Samuel as his top receiver again. But the Commanders have also found their top running back in Jacory Croskey-Merritt, who likes to go by “Bill” after he scored two touchdowns last week. He is averaging a league-high 6.6 yards per carry, and the Bears rank dead last in that stat, allowing 6.1 yards per carry defensively.

But Caleb Williams is improved this year, and the same can be said about second-year wide receiver Rome Odunze, who has taken the mantle from D.J. Moore as the No. 1 wide receiver in this offense. Odunze has scored 5 touchdowns, including at least one in every game, so he'll look to continue his streak against a Washington secondary that has been susceptible to big plays the last two seasons.

It could be a good one Monday night with plenty of nice player prop opportunities on Croskey-Merritt, Odunze, and don't sleep on D.J. Moore, the veteran who had 230 yards and three touchdowns in Washington two years ago in a Thursday night game.

🎯 Best Bet: Under 50. Lest we forget, last year's game was 15-12 before the Hail Mary. We'll bank on enough long drives and stops to stay under 50 points this time.
