Top NFL Week 3 Sunday Games to Bet On
NFL Week 3 features some excellent matchups this Sunday. Let's preview two of the best games and give our betting predictions.
Sunday | 1:00 PM ET | Green Bay Packers vs. Cleveland Browns (+7.5, O/U 41.5)
The Packers and Browns are showing the importance of having elite edge rushers like Micah Parsons and Myles Garrett. After trading for Parsons, Green Bay's defense is getting rave reviews and ranks No. 1 against the pass. They shut down Jared Goff (Lions) and Jayden Daniels (Commanders) in the first two wins. Parsons is already a favorite for the Defensive Player of the Year award.
But don't sleep on Myles Garrett, who is off to a monster start with 3.5 sacks for the Browns. The Browns dominated Joe Burrow's offense in Week 1 and held the Ravens in check until short fields did them in last week. That's why the Browns rank No. 25 in points allowed despite allowing the fewest yards in the NFL through two weeks.
This game could be very low-scoring. Cleveland struggles to finish drives behind Joe Flacco, and the Packers are banged up at receiver. Tight end Tyler Kraft was injured in practice late in the week, and Jayden Reed broke his collarbone in Week 2. It could be a real grind for Jordan Love and company, as he has yet to find his connection with first-round rookie Matthew Golden.
Sunday | 1:00 PM ET | Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New England Patriots (+1.5, O/U 44.5)
Both teams looked shaky to start this season, with 1-1 records on both sides. The Pittsburgh defense has been a massive disappointment, even if you account for their injuries.
T.J. Watt has gone five games without a sack, and the remaining veterans are not picking up the slack. Garrett Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Cooper Kupp have picked apart the league's most expensive defense. Drake Maye and Stefon Diggs could be the next duo to have their way with this porous pass defense.
Aaron Rodgers had a great Week 1 performance against the Jets, but struggled in his home debut, plagued by a poor running game and some receiver errors. He's not getting great protection, and the Steelers' shortcomings at wide receiver are already shining through. Once you get past D.K. Metcalf, there aren't many players to trust, and even he was held in check, save for one short touchdown catch against Seattle.
It's a tough matchup to call since both teams have shown many flaws on tape over the past two weeks. The Patriots nearly gave up a game-winning drive to Tua Tagovailoa in a high-scoring game in Miami last week. The Steelers have also lost six of their last seven games, dating back to last year.
