Top College Football Week 4 Games to Bet On
The CFB Week 4 docket features some nice matchups and solid betting opportunities. Let's preview our top three college football games to wager on Saturday at BetMGM.
Auburn vs. Oklahoma: Best Bet, Preview, and Prediction
Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer is +900 to win the Heisman, which is the second-highest odds at BetMGM going into Week 4. He's a dual threat and playing great football in his first year with the Sooners, who are 3-0 and already have a solid win over Michigan. He'll most likely need to make a lot of plays with his arms in this one, as the Tigers have the 10th-best rush defense in college football.
The Tigers are also 3-0 on the year, led by solid play on both sides of the ball. The Tigers lost 27-21 to the Sooners a year ago, but they are back with their own dual-threat quarterback in Jackson Arnold (who is facing his former team). Expect Arnold and Auburn to pound the rock on the ground. Arnold already has 192 yards and four rushing touchdowns this season.
Oklahoma has allowed just 19 points this season and has home-field advantage for this matchup. That could be enough to swing it their way. They also have a massive edge in the passing game with Mateer running the show.
Michigan vs. Nebraska: Best Bet, Preview, and Prediction
Michigan (2-1) is going on the road to take on Nebraska (3-0). Michigan will be without coach Sherrone Moore again as he serves his suspension. The team already has lost its biggest road test against Oklahoma in Week 2 as freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood struggled in Norman against Brent Venables' salty defense. But after rushing for -6 rushing yards in his first two starts, he ran wild against Central Michigan, totaling 114 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
Meanwhile, Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola is always creating a buzz on the internet about how he seems to be cosplaying like Patrick Mahomes, right down to his mannerisms, haircuts, clothes, and more. The sophomore quarterback's on-field play has drastically improved this season, with eight touchdowns and no picks. He's also completing 76.6% of his passes.
The Cornhuskers are only allowing 8.0 points per game, but their schedule hasn't really tested them much yet. Michigan presents a more daunting challenge with its running game and a good defensive scheme, which could be challenging for Raiola to figure out. But it should be a competitive matchup, with the home underdog having good value.
Florida vs. Miami: Best Bet, Preview, and Prediction
The Heisman Trophy favorite is Carson Beck (+700 at BetMGM), who's playing great football and stepping in wonderfully for Cam Ward, who went No. 1 in the NFL draft to Tennessee. Miami is thriving right now with a strong offensive line and run game, and Beck has mostly avoided the interceptions that plagued him a bit at Georgia last year before he transferred.
The Gators are 1-2, but they are still a formidable opponent with a very good defense that can keep them in this game. The problem is that quarterback DJ Lagway has been an interception machine thus far. He threw five picks a week ago in the loss to LSU. He has not finished enough drives in the last two weeks, as the Gators also fell to South Florida in an 18-16 game in Week 2. Lagway is brimming with talent, but can he put it all together and limit the mistakes?
