Here are some of our favorite bets from NFL Week 1 games (all BetMGM odds accurate at time of writing):

1:00 PM ET | Las Vegas Raiders vs. New England Patriots (-2.5, O/U 43.5)

Pete Carroll and Mike Vrabel make their head coaching debuts for new teams. All eyes are on exciting rookie backs in Ashton Jeanty (Raiders) and TreVeyon Henderson (Patriots). The duo could battle for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2025. The Patriots will have to find a way to stop tight-end Brock Bowers, who burst onto the scene last year as a rookie and could already be the best player in the league at his position.

Quarterback Geno Smith is reuniting with Carroll after they made the playoffs together in Seattle in 2022. Drake Maye will start his second year with longtime Patriots coordinator Josh McDaniels running the offense. There are a lot of reunions in this game, but both teams figure to be competitive and at least in the wild card mix after poor seasons in 2024.
🎯 Best Bet: The Patriots need this one at home to get off to a good start for Vrabel. Take the Patriots to cover (-2.5).

1:00 PM ET | Miami Dolphins vs. Indianapolis Colts (-1, O/U 46.5)

The spread is very close as both teams kick off their 2025 season in dire situations. Miami coach Mike McDaniel is the odds-on favorite to be the first NFL coach fired during the season. And Colts head coach Shane Steichen could be feeling some heat after announcing he will start quarterback Daniel Jones over third-year player Anthony Richardson, the No. 4 pick in the 2023 draft.

The Colts haven't won a Week 1 game since the 2013 opener against the Raiders. However, the Colts beat Miami last season, 16-10, albeit without Tua Tagovailoa (concussion).

🎯 Best Bet: Let's go with the streak ending and the Colts finally winning a Week 1 game, as Daniel Jones plays better than expected for one game. Take the Colts to cover (-1).

1:00 PM ET | Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Jets (+3, O/U 38.5)

It's a rare double-revenge game as Aaron Rodgers and Justin Fields switch teams from last year. The Steelers are a 3-point road favorite, but no one really knows what to expect as new starters Rodgers, D.K. Metcalf, and Jonnu Smith didn't play a single snap together in the preseason. The Steelers have a revamped secondary after adding veteran corners Darius Slay and Jalen Ramsey. The Steelers hope to win their first playoff game since the 2016 season.

Meanwhile, the Jets hope Fields and rookie coach Aaron Glenn provide a burst of offense in New York. The Detroit defensive coordinator has a lot to prove with Fields at the helm. The former Ohio State quarterback is 14-30 as a starter in the NFL.

🎯 Best Bet: The Steelers won in Atlanta in Week 1 last year by kicking six field goals. Expect this one to be ugly and low-scoring. Take the under (38.5 points).

1:00 PM ET | New York Giants vs. Washington Commanders (-6, O/U 45.5)

Jayden Daniels did the unthinkable last year. He took a subpar Commanders squad one game shy of the Super Bowl in his rookie campaign, and now he's an MVP candidate who has Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil in his offensive huddle this year. Daniels' first NFL win was against the Giants, and it was the only game in NFL history where a team scored seven field goals on all seven of its possessions (kneeldowns excluded). Expect Daniels to continue right where his excellent rookie season left off.

Surprisingly, the Giants went wild on offense during the preseason, blowing teams away with 345.0 passing yards per game, the most in an NFL preseason since at least 2000. It's usually better not to read too much into preseason results. That said, we can't wait to see Russell Wilson throwing moon balls to Malik Nabers every game.

🎯 Best Bet: Between Jayden Daniels and the best preseason offense in the 21st century, we expect over 45.5 points to hit here.
