Best College Football Week 1 Games to Use Your No-sweat Bets On
Since you can only use one $100 Gameday Guarantee token per gameday, let's highlight the best game to bet on each day during the first week of college football (Thursday, Aug. 9th to Monday, Sep. 1st).
THURSDAY: 5:30 PM ET | No. 25 Boise State vs. USF (+5.5, O/U 62.5)
Boise State begins the new season without phenom running back Ashton Jeanty (Raiders), but we know this offense is usually prolific and ready to go. Returning quarterback Maddux Madsen and the Broncos head to Tampa in Week 1 to face South Florida.
The Bulls went 7-6 last year. USF should be solid on offense in head coach Alex Golesh's third season, but it will be hard for them to keep up with Boise State for 60 minutes.
FRIDAY: 8:00 PM ET | Georgia Tech vs. Colorado (+4.5, O/U 52.5)
Colorado coach Deion Sanders prepares for life without his star duo from last season, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter. Coach Prime has turned around the Colorado program, but it's always hard to replace your best players, and we'll see if his new recruits are up to the task.
Meanwhile, Georgia Tech is coming off a 7-6 season for coach Brent Key, who has the Georgia Tech program heading in the right direction.
SATURDAY: 12:00 PM ET | No. 1 Texas vs. No. 3 Ohio State (-1.5, O/U 48)
The No. 1-ranked Texas Longhorns start the season off as an underdog in Week 1 when they head to Columbus to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes. The teams faced off in an epic College Football Playoff showdown last season, with the Buckeyes coming out on top, thanks to a late scoop-and-score off a Quinn Ewers fumble.
However, there are a lot of unknowns for both teams going into the game, as they are both breaking in new quarterbacks. Will Arch Manning live up to the insane hype surrounding him? Or will former prized recruit Julian Sayin steal the show, with his elite receiving corps, led by sophomore Jeremiah Smith.
SUNDAY: 7:30 PM ET | No. 6 Notre Dame vs. No. 10 Miami FL (+2.5, O/U 49.5)
Another top 10 battle in Week 1 features Notre Dame trying to rebound from a loss in the National Championship game to Ohio State. The Fighting Irish had a stellar defense last year, holding all but two opponents to 24 or fewer points. But it's the season debut for freshman C.J. Carr, the grandson of former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr. He will try to replace Riley Leonard at quarterback and lead Notre Dame to another great season.
On the other side of the field will be the Miami Hurricanes, who expect to have another prolific offense behind Georgia transfer Carson Beck. Can Beck replace No. 1 draft pick Cam Ward and lead the Hurricanes to a College Football Playoff berth? We'll soon find out.
MONDAY: 8:00 PM ET | TCU vs. UNC (+3.5, O/U 56.5)
On Monday night, Bill Belichick makes his NCAA debut as the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels. The NFL coaching legend will try to build up a program that finished 6-7 last year and is only favored to win 6.5 games this season. He'll get a good test right off the bat against a solid program TCU program, which finished 9-4 last year in the Big 12.
Belichick brought in plenty of transfers, including quarterback Gio Lopez. Still, there's a lot of uncertainty about how this one will shake out, as the line has shifted throughout the summer. The Tar Heels flipped from a 3-point favorite to a 3.5-point underdog.
