Week 3 of the 2025 NFL preseason continues Friday night with four games, including the Bears vs. Chiefs. We'll detail every preseason football game today and give you our best bets.

Bears vs. Chiefs NFL Preseason Betting Preview

Rookie head coach Ben Johnson leads the Bears against Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs. While the Chiefs are winless this preseason, they are a 1.5-point home favorite, and this game has the highest total (O/U 41.5 points) of any Week 3 game, so there could be a chance for some fireworks.

SPREAD
Chiefs -1.5
TOTAL
O/U 41.5

• 🛡️ Defensive Advantage: The Bears (226.0) are allowing 190 fewer yards per game in the preseason than the Chiefs (416.0), who rank 31st.
• ⚡ X-factor: Bears QB Tyson Bagent has played well in the preseason and was moved to tears after signing a $10M extension with Chicago.
• ⚠️ Note: Kansas City has lost its last five preseason games, including 34-21 to the Bears to end the 2024 preseason 0-3.

The Bears are coming off arguably the most impressive performance of any team in the 2025 NFL preseason after dismantling the Bills 38-0 last Sunday night as seen on Hard Knocks. The offense had 528 yards, but coach Johnson has taken some heat for admitting to dusting off an old game plan to use for the game, as teams generally don't game plan much for August preseason action. But whatever Johnson was doing, it worked well for his team, who looked strong, including a touchdown pass from starting quarterback Caleb Williams.

As for the Chiefs, it would be an understatement to say the team has shown very little of its new offense in August. The Chiefs are averaging 202.5 yards per game, the fewest of anyone this August. Patrick Mahomes has thrown just one pass, but at least it was a 1-yard touchdown pass. The Chiefs are usually better about getting their starters some reps in the preseason, but we'll see if Reid tries to do anything exciting in front of the home crowd Friday night, or if the Chiefs try to get to the opener in Brazil as healthy as can be.

  • Bears O/U regular season win total for 2025: 8.5
  • Chiefs O/U regular season win total for 2025: 11.5

One roster decision the Chiefs won't have to make from this game is wide receiver after trading Skyy Moore to the 49ers on Wednesday. But with Reid discussing a plan to get his starters out there while resting key veterans, that could mean we see some passes from Patrick Mahomes, but no snaps from tight end Travis Kelce. Meanwhile, Johnson has confirmed that Williams and many starters will get reps Friday night, but no set plan was given on whether it would be a couple of drives or the entire first half.

🎯 SFA Betting Prediction: This could be a fun one to watch, but with the Bears taking the preseason so seriously, we'll take them to cover comfortably and drop the Chiefs to 0-3 to finish their NFL preseason.

Other NFL Preseason Football Games Today

Let's preview the other three NFL preseason games on Friday night, and give you the lowdown on our favorite bets. New sportsbook customers can get up to $5,000 in bonus bets by taking advantage of the best NFL betting promos for the upcoming football season.

7:30 PM ET | Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Jets (-1.5, O/U 34.5)

The Eagles sat backup quarterback Tanner McKee, one of their August stars, in an ugly defensive battle and loss to the Browns last week. They may do the same as an underdog to the Jets this week, who are already fielding questions about their passing game and Justin Fields, as coach Aaron Glenn has his last tune-up before Week 1.

🎯 Best Bet: Under 34.5. The total is low, but don't expect either team to put the ball in the air much, and hopefully, there won't be a pick-six to push the over.

8:00 PM ET | Atlanta Falcons vs. Dallas Cowboys (-2.5, O/U 35.5)

The Falcons have largely avoided playing starters in the preseason, including no snaps for new starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. They won't play Kirk Cousins either, so it looks like another game of heavy Easton Stick snaps. The Cowboys lost 31-13 to Baltimore last week after another erratic Joe Milton performance.

🎯 Best Bet: Falcons +2.5. Without Dak Prescott, look for the Cowboys to falter again, with Joe Milton's inexperience hurting them in key downs.

8:00 PM ET | Minnesota Vikings vs. Tennessee Titans (-3.5, O/U 37.5)

The Titans did a good job to pull out a 23-20 win over the Falcons last week, with rookie quarterback Cam Ward showing a real willingness to get the ball down the field. It is unclear if or how much Ward will play here, but it does sound like J.J. McCarthy, who sat out Week 2, may take the field for the Vikings, who are battling some wide receiver injuries going into the final preseason game.

🎯 Best Bet: Titans -3.5. Tennessee's backups won the game late last week and should be able to finish off the Vikings at home with Minnesota prioritizing health.
