1:00 PM ET | San Francisco 49ers vs. New Orleans Saints (+3, O/U 40.5)

It sounded impossible for the 2025 49ers to be as injured as the 2024 team, but here we are in Week 2, and the team is very banged up. George Kittle left last week's win against Seattle with a hamstring injury that will keep him out for at least the next four games. Jauan Jennings is also injured. Brandon Aiyuk is still out. At this point, Christian McCaffrey is actually one of their healthiest skill players.

But the big news is Brock Purdy's toe injury, which could see the quarterback miss multiple weeks. Reports suggest he's out this week, which is why backup Mac Jones is considered Sunday's starter. That's also why the point spread has gone from 49ers -7 to 49ers -3 as Jones is a big downgrade from Purdy. Still, many suggested in 2021 that 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan wanted Jones as his new quarterback, but the team drafted Trey Lance instead.

As for the Saints, they had a valiant effort against the Cardinals last week in a 20-13 loss. Spencer Rattler played better than expected. With the Saints at home and likely facing a bad backup quarterback, there is upset potential here.

4:25 PM ET | Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs (+1.5, O/U 46.5)

Thanks to two Super Bowl meetings, the Eagles and Chiefs are the teams from opposite conferences since the 1970 merger to face off in five straight seasons. The series is tied 2-2, but the Chiefs aren't in the best state. For the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era, they have gone back-to-back games without holding a lead. If they want to avoid the first three-game losing streak of the Mahomes era, they'll need to beat the team that stomped them 40-6 last February. It will be tough without wide receivers Xavier Worthy (dislocated shoulder) and Rashee Rice (suspended).

To make matters worse, the NFL decided that Jalen Carter's ejection in Week 1 after spitting at Dak Prescott following the opening kickoff is enough to count as a one-game suspension, so he'll be available on Sunday.  We'll see what Andy Reid can cook up for this one, but a lot of the attention will be on the defense, which struggled in Brazil against Justin Herbert and the Chargers' wide receivers.

As for the Eagles, let's see if they rely more on their wideouts after A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith had quiet games in Week 1. The Eagles still have Saquon Barkley, but slowing him down was the only thing the Chiefs did well in Super Bowl 59. We'll see if Jalen Hurts carries the load again for the offense in this one, a highly anticipated rematch and another big litmus test for both teams.
