We’re down to the final eight teams and just a few short weeks separate us from Super Bowl Sunday.

It’s no secret why some of these teams are here. The Eagles are expected to have 21 of their 22 Week 1 starters and teams like the Bills and Chiefs are getting healthier with each passing week.

Here’s a breakdown of all the injuries that could play a factor in who moves on to Championship Weekend and who goes home:

– The Jaguars are as healthy as could be at this point of the season with no major injuries currently on their 53-man roster. However, it is worth noting Trevor Lawrence hasn’t been a full participant in practice during the last six weeks. He was limited all three days again this week heading into the Chiefs game.

Since suffering his toe injury, Lawrence has been pressured at least 11 times in every game, except for Week 17 against Houston when he sat out the fourth quarter due to the insurmountable lead.

– Edge rusher Frank Clark left Week 18 with a groin injury, but Andy Reid classified it as minor. He wasn’t a full participant in practice all week, but doesn’t carry an injury designation into the weekend.

This season, Kansas City has pressured opposing quarterbacks on nearly 45 percent of their third down dropbacks when Clark is on the field. That number drops to 39 percent when he is on the sidelines.

– The Chiefs also thought Mecole Hardman would be active for Week 18, but he remains out after being activated from the IR a few weeks ago. He hasn’t played since injuring his abdomen in Week 9 and will be inactive once again.

In the regular season finale against Las Vegas, Marquez Valdes-Scantling was the only Chiefs wide receiver to have more than two targets in the passing game, catching three of his six opportunities for 27 yards.

Azeez Ojulari suffered a quad injury in the second quarter against the Vikings and is considered questionable heading into Saturday night. Ojulari is second on the Giants in sackes with 5.5 despite playing just eight games. Two of those sacks came against the Eagles in Week 14.

With Ojulari limited to eight snaps against the Vikings, Jihad Ward played 31 snaps, rushing the passer 14 times and recording one quarterback hit.

On the season, Ward posted 24 pressures and three sacks in 362 pass rushing snaps.

Lane Johnson is expected to play after missing the final two weeks of the regular season with a groin injury. The first-team All Pro right tackle was seen at practice last week.

Johnson hasn’t allowed a sack in over two seasons, setting PFF’s record for consecutive snaps and games without allowing a sack.

– Quarterback Jalen Hurts wasn’t on the practice report at all this week for the first time since injuring his shoulder back in Week 15. He missed two games before returning in the season finale.

Despite the two-week layoff, there are reports Hurts’s shoulder is still sensitive to the touch and it could affect his play. Against the Giants in Week 18, the Eagles didn’t call any quarterback runs, save for a couple QB sneaks. The Giants allowed 5.4 yards per carry to opposing quarterbacks this season.

– The only Philadelphia starter who will be out on Saturday night is slot corner Avonte Maddox who remains out with a toe injury.

In Week 18, the returning CJ Gardner-Johnson moved to the nickel spot with rookie Reed Blankenship remaining at safety. The Eagles also elevated veteran Anthony Harris from the practice squad.

Richie James leads the Giants in receiving yards from the slot, catching 48 passes for 506 yards and averaging 1.60 yards per route run.

– The Bengals will be missing three starting offensive linemen on Sunday with La’el Collins (IR), Alex Cappa and Jonah Williams all ruled out.

With Collins out, Hakeem Adeniji has been playing right tackle for the first time in his career after playing right guard for the Bengals last season. He was a weak point on the offensive line in the postseason last year, allowing six sacks. He’s played 165 snaps this season and allowed one sack and 11 total pressures.

Jackson Carman filled in for Jonah Williams at right tackle after he went out last week and should get the start against the Bills. Carman exclusively played guard as a rookie in 2021, but was a left tackle at Clemson in college.

At right guard, Max Scharping has replaced Alex Cappa. Scharping was the Texans’ right guard at the beginning of 2021, but was benched after a pair of poor performances. He allowed one sack against the Ravens last week.

– Both Micah Hyde and Jamison Crowder were designated to return from the Injured Reserve last week, but neither is expected to be active against the Bengals.

Hyde has been out since injuring his neck in October. His replacement, Dean Marlowe, had an interception against Miami. It was Marlowe’s first pick since 2020, when he had two in a game against the Dolphins.

Cole Beasley led the Bills in snaps out of the slot and caught two passes for 35 yards and a touchdown. He was third on the team in targets, trailing only Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis.

Jason Peters will be inactive after suffering a hip injury against the Buccaneers. The 40-year-old left tackle allowed six pressures in the past three games, but played every snap in just one of those contests.

With Peters out, rookie Tyler Smith moved back to left tackle where he started the season and Connor McGovern was added back to the first-team unit. Smith allowed 39 pressures and committed 13 penalties this season, which tied for the most in the NFL among all tackles.

As for McGovern, he allowed two sacks and 23 pressures in 507 pass blocking snaps this season. He made 14 starts at right guard and one at center. The Cowboys originally planned to use him as an extra blocker in jumbo sets and short yardage situations before the Peters injury.
