– Safety Ryan Neal will be active this week after being a limited participant in every practice. He’s been inactive for three weeks due to a knee injury.

Former Raiders’ first-round pick Jonathan Abrams has been taking Neal’s snaps over the past two weeks and allowed six catches for 100 yards in coverage against the Jets.

Neal allowed two catches for 12 yards to Christian McCaffrey in coverage when the two teams met back in Week 15.

Phil Haynes has a chance to return from his high ankle sprain, but he didn’t practice at all and enters the weekend designated as questionable. He’s been rotating with Gabe Jackson at right guard all season, although Jackson has taken about 200 more snaps.

Haynes has been a slightly better pass blocker, but both guys have been pretty mediocre, earning overall grades in the mid-50s from PFF.

– The 49ers will get starting left guard Aaron Banks back after a one-game absence due to ankle and knee injuries.

In 101 snaps at left guard over the last two weeks, Daniel Brunskill has allowed only two pressures. However, Banks has allowed just one sack and two quarterback hits all season.

Mike Williams has been ruled out after suffering a back injury against the Broncos in Week 18. Initial x-rays were negative, but he is now going to miss at least two weeks with a fracture that was revealed by further testing on Friday.

When Williams was out, Josh Palmer stepped up and averaged six catches and 74 yards per game from Week 9 through Week 13. Palmer had six catches for 99 yards against the Jaguars in Week 3 and Williams had just one catch for 15 yards in the loss.

– Despite looking like he re-injured his groin in Week 18, Joey Bosa was a full participant in practice and carries no injury designation into the weekend.

In two games since returning from the Injured Reserve, Bosa has seven pressures and one sack in 24 pass rushing snaps.

– The Jaguars list five different players as questionable this week, but there shouldn’t be much concern about their availability.

Brandon Scherff and Trevor Lawrence both played every snap against the Titans in Week 18 and Jamal Agnew returned four kicks and two punts.

Jacksonville doesn’t have another long snapper on their roster so Ross Matiscik should also be a full go.

– Despite initial hope that Tua Tagovailoa could return this week, he will be inactive, remaining in concussion protocol. With Teddy Bridgewater questionable due to a couple injuries, Skylar Thompson will make his first career playoff start.

In the season finale, Thompson completed 20 of his 31 pass attempts for 152 yards for a Dolphins offense that scored zero touchdowns.

Raheem Mostert is also out this week after undergoing surgery on his thumb. Backup Jeff Wilson got 31 rushing attempts in the last two games, averaging 3.7 yards per carry.

Mostert ran all over the Bills in Week 15, rushing 17 times for 136 yards. His loss would be a huge blow to a struggling offense.

Terron Armstead is questionable with his four injuries after being a limited participant in Friday’s practice. It was his first practice since Week 16. Fellow starter Brandon Shell is also questionable after sitting out all week due to an ankle injury he suffered against the Jets.

Greg Little started at left tackle last week and allowed two quarterback hits. The Dolphins have allowed pressure on 46 percent of their quarterback’s dropbacks when Armstead isn’t on the field.

Right guard Robert Hunt kicked out to right tackle when Shell went down. Hunt played over 700 snaps at right tackle in 2020 and allowed 15 pressures and three sacks.

Micah Hyde was designated to return from the IR this week, but isn’t expected to return to the field until at least the Conference Championship Game, should the Bills advance that far.

Dean Marlowe was a midseason pickup for Buffalo and got his first start in the regular season finale against the Patriots, he played just one snap in his previous seven weeks with the team. Marlowe had the best season of his career as a rotational safety for the Bills in 2020 when he had two interceptions and 1.5 sacks while playing just 23 percent of the defensive snaps.

Jaylen Waddle has torched Bills’ safeties this season in their two matchups, catching four of five targets for 137 yards and a touchdown.

– The Giants are getting healthy at the right time with zero players carrying an injury designation into the weekend.

Adoree’ Jackson is returning after a seven-game absence. Fabian Moreau was torture by Justin Jefferson in Week 16, allowing seven catches for 78 yards and a touchdown on nine targets.

Also making a comeback is Xavier McKinney, who could help solve the TJ Hockenson problem. The safety returned in Week 17 against the Colts before sitting out the season finale. He missed nine weeks after injuring himself in an ATV accident during the Giants’ bye week.

Hockenson had 13 catches against the Giants on Christmas Eve, including a pair of touchdowns.

– The Vikings will get starting center Garrett Bradbury after a five-week absence due to a back injury.

However, this week will be no easy task for Bradbury, going up against Dexter Lawrence who has produced 63 pressures as an interior lineman. Bradbury has allowed just two sacks and 24 pressures all season.

– Veteran safety Harrison Smith is questionable, but he told reporters late in the week that he expects to play. Smith was held out of Week 18 due to his knee injury, but that was considered a precautionary move.

– The outlook isn’t as bright for Cameron Dantzler who missed practice this week while going through a family matter that was classified as “pretty serious” by Kevin O’Connell.

Dantzler has missed the last four games due to an ankle injury and was replaced by Duke Shelley in the starting lineup. Shelley has six pass breakups in those starts and on 23 targets, he’s allowed just nine completions and zero touchdowns or explosive plays.

– There was some hope that Lamar Jackson could return this week, but he once again sat out of practice and has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Bengals.

The Ravens’ offense has struggled mightily, scoring over 17 points just once since their bye in Week 10.

Tyler Huntley is questionable with a shoulder injury, but trending in the right direction after full participation in Friday’s practice. He was inactive for the season finale.

– Right guard Alex Cappa is out this week due to an ankle injury and right tackle La’el Collins is done for the season after tearing his ACL two weeks ago.

The Bengals’ offensive line has been much improved this year, ranking third in pressures per dropback allowed and allowing just six sacks over their last four games.

Hakeem Adeniji, who was a trainwreck in the playoffs at right guard last season, hasn’t allowed a sack since taking over at right tackle in Week 16, but has allowed seven pressures. Max Scharping, who replaced Cappa on Sunday, allowed just two sacks in 400 pass blocking snaps as a member of the Texans last season.

In 82 dropbacks against the Ravens this season, Joe Burrow has been pressured 19 times, taking four sacks.
