  • The Buccaneers have scored a touchdown on 8.3% (3-of-36) of their drives, the lowest rate in the league.
  • Just 5 of 36 (13.4%) of the Tampa Bay drives have reached the red zone, the lowest rate in the league.
  • Just 18.3% of the first and second down plays against Tampa Bay have resulted in a first down or touchdown, the lowest rate in the league.
  • 31.3% of the Kansas City plays on first or second down have resulted in a first down or touchdown, third in the league.
  • 21.1% of the Tampa Bay plays on first or second down have resulted in a first down or touchdown, 31st in the league.
  • Opposing passers have completed 3-of-19 (15.9%) passes 15 yards or further downfield versus Tampa Bay, the lowest rate in the league.

Quarterback

Patrick Mahomes: After shredding Arizona (34.9 points) to kick off the season, Mahomes has been the QB13 (17.3 points) and QB11 (17.1 points) the past two weeks.

Mahomes has thrown for 6.7 and 7.5 yards per attempt the past two weeks with 235 and 262 yards against the Chargers and Colts.

While we are not moving away from Mahomes as a QB1, the surrounding cast that he is working with has not been inspiring the past two weeks. Mahomes still has Travis Kelce, but right now he is targeting wide receivers 50% of the time, the lowest rate of his career. That rate is also 30th in the league. Kelce plays a large role in that output, but it is a tough way to live as a front-end fantasy quarterback throwing so many passes to tight ends and running backs when none of those receivers have demonstrated a ceiling like Tyreek Hill. These Kansas City wideouts need to step up more than the past two weeks.

Mahomes also gets a tougher draw here against a Tampa Bay pass defense that has allowed 9.9 passing points per game (fourth), 5.9 yards per pass attempt (second), and 9.4 yards per completion (third).  I would not go out and stream for Mahomes, but he is more of a lower-end QB1 play this weekend.
