Motivation or Rest Alert

The Chiefs are playing for the No. 1 Seed this weekend and a first round bye after the announcement that the Bills and Bengals game from Week 17 will not be made up.  If the Chiefs win this game, they have secured that top spot in the conference. Kansas City starters should be expected to be a full go here in competitive game script.

The Raiders are eliminated from the postseason.

Quarterback

Patrick Mahomes: Mahomes has rattled off 14 straight QB1 scoring weeks. Not only that, but he has been a top-six scorer in 12 of his past 13 games. That includes a QB2 scoring week (30.5 points) when these teams played back in Week 5.

Mahomes is 429 yards short of the all-time record for passing yardage. While unlikely he gets that here, it’s not completely dead, either. The Raiders have allowed 15.8 passing points per game, 29th in the league.
