Quarterback

Carson Wentz: Last week we were able to identify a potential trap spot for Wentz and that’s exactly what played out as he closed the week as the QB29 (8.6 points).

Over the past two weeks, Wentz and Washington have dug huge holes that have allowed some jailbreak scenarios for passing yardage late in games. In the first half of the past two games, Wentz is 12-of-27 for 83 yards (3.1 Y/A) with zero touchdowns and has taken 10 sacks. While Wentz was able to clean up points trailing big in Week 2 versus the Lions, he did no such thing against a much better Eagles defense.

The Cowboys have played well defensively. They have allowed just 10.1 passing points per game (sixth). They also have played the Buccaneers, Bengals, and Giants, passing games that have not been at their best against anyone to open the season. One thing Dallas does have that we can stock is that they have pass rushers. Dallas is third in the league in pressure rate (35.8%).

Under pressure, Wentz has completed 50% of his passes for 4.7 yards per attempt while taking 15 sacks, tied for the most in the league.

This is another week to proceed with caution on Wentz as a streamer, keeping him as a QB2 in all formats.
