Week 14 DFS Picks: Core Players and Best Plays

Every Sunday in the weekly fantasy chats, I get asked about my favorite plays of the week or who is in my player pool that weekend for DFS.

This article series covers exactly that.

Every week, I will go through the players I am targeting to play in DFS for all games, tournaments, and game stacks.

The idea is that this will paint a clearer picture of framing lineups.

Week 14 DFS Content:

Our core players are the players we will have the most exposure to at their positions.

They can be played in cash games and tournaments.

Quarterback

Sam Darnold ($6,100/$7,600)

It is a wide-open week at the quarterback position due to the scheduled primetime games and bye weeks.

There are two premier “pay up” options in Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts, and then things open up to a bunch of passers who are back-end QB1 archetypes and typical streaming options.

Darnold is the value option that appears to be the “safest” play within his price range.

He has shown a reliable floor and a good matchup.

Darnold has logged three straight QB1 scoring weeks in four of his past five games.

He has thrown multiple touchdowns in 9-of-12 games.

Atlanta is 31st in the league in terms of pressure rate (27.5%).

From a clean pocket, Darnold has completed 72.3% of his passes for 8.5 Y/A and a 5.5% touchdown rate.

The Falcons allow opposing passers 15.2 passing points per game (26th).

Will Levis ($5,000/$6,600)

This slate offers plenty of options to go a cheaper route.

Levis stands out from that group, playing as a home favorite against a Jacksonville defense we have targeted all season.

Levis has thrown multiple passing touchdowns in three of his past four games.

The Jaguars have allowed a league-high 18.5 passing points per game, allowing a 70.3% completion rate (30th), 8.4 Y/A (13th), and a 5.9% touchdown rate (31st).
