Quarterback
Josh Allen: Allen was able to get by as the QB12 last week (16.9 points) despite throwing for just 6.8 yards per pass attempt (223 yards) and rushing for only 20 yards. Over his past six games, Allen is averaging 237.7 passing yards, 7.0 Y/A with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions after averaging 330 passing yards per game with 8.3 Y/A and 17 passing touchdowns with four interceptions over his opening six games.
Allen has weird splits as the Bills have struggled in the second half of games of late. In the second half of games over his past six, Allen has completed 59.6% of his passes with just one touchdown as opposed to throwing seven touchdowns in the opening half of those games.
Despite the mixed bag, Allen has still managed to be a QB1 scorer in 10-of-12 games due to his rushing ability and touchdown equity in the offense. Allen has accounted for 83.3% of the Buffalo touchdowns this season, the highest rate among quarterbacks. Even if this is not a ceiling spot, Allen’s blend of floor and upside always has him in play as a QB1.
That is how the first matchup between these teams played out as well. Allen was forced to work through the air as a passer, completing 18-of-34 passes (52.9%) for 205 yards (6.0 Y/A) without a touchdown and a pair of interceptions. On the ground, however, Allen rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown.
The Jets are allowing just 10.2 passing points per game (third) and Allen is the only quarterback that has finished higher than QB19 against them in a game since Week 4.
