  • Seattle has run 70 fewer offensive plays than their opponent through three weeks, the largest differential in the league.
  • Seattle is fourth in the league with a +22 point differential in the first half of games this season, but 29th in the league with a -23 point differential in the second half of games.
  • Just 7.4% (7-of-95) of Jimmy Garoppolo’s pass attempts have gone over 15 yards downfield, ahead of only Andy Dalton (2.0%).
  • Russell Wilson leads all quarterbacks in fantasy points (29.9) on throws over 15 yards downfield.
  • Wilson is averaging 6.8 yards per pass attempt under pressure as opposed to 12.1 Y/A when kept clean. That -5.3 yard difference is the lowest difference in the league through three weeks.
  • The 49ers are the final team remaining that has scored a touchdown on 100% of their red zone possessions (8-of-8).

Quarterback

Russell Wilson: After QB8 (27.1 points) and QB9 (23.3 points) scoring weeks to open the season, Wilson closed Week 3 as the QB19 (16.6 points). Wilson was still hyper-efficient, connecting on 23-of-32 passes for 298 yards (9.3 Y/A), but managed just one touchdown pass. Wilson has been a hot starter through three games, completing 77.8% of his passes for 12.8 yards per attempt with five touchdowns in the first half of games this year and then dipping down to 68.3% completion rate, 7.8 Y/A, and two touchdowns after the break.

Seattle has once again become a slow-paced offense that has toned down their passing volume. Paired with Wilson’s efficiency, that pace has caused Seattle to get lapped in plays run compared to their opponent so far.

The 49ers have opened mid-pack against quarterbacks, ranking 17th in passing points allowed per attempt (0.47) and 19th in passing points allowed per game (17.9) facing Jared Goff, Jalen Hurts, and Aaron Rodgers, allowing 19 or more overall fantasy points to all three to keep Wilson as a QB1.
