  • Washington has 26 fewer first downs than their opponent, the largest differential in the league.
  • Washington is last in the NFL in third down conversion rate (26.5%).
  • Opponents have scored on 59.4% of their drives against Washington, the highest rate in the league. In 2020, that rate was 33%, fifth in the league.
  • Matt Ryan’s 4.9 average depth of target ranks only ahead of Andy Dalton (4.6 yards).

Bust = down-week production for that player’s standards

Quarterback

Taylor Heinicke: It has not always been pretty but Heinicke has been the QB12 (20 points) and the QB9 (21.4 points) in his starts the past two weeks. He had 24 points in his playoff start, so we are building out a frantic sample where he keeps getting there for fantasy. Last week he completed just 58.3% of his passes for 212 yards and threw two interceptions, but he added two passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown.

This week, Heinicke faces an Atlanta defense that is 31st in passing points allowed (21.4 per game) anchored by a 7.6% touchdown rate allowed (29th). We were in this same position with Daniel Jones last week and overfit the passing touchdowns to his expectations as Atlanta has been modest in yards allowed per pass attempt (7.6 Y/A, 18th). Atlanta has allowed 62 rushing yards to Jalen Hurts and 39 yards to Jones last week to play into Heinicke’s mobility. Given the running sample of Heinicke finding a way to produce points and the Atlanta defense at best being a mixed bag, Heinicke is a higher-end QB2 and streaming option.
