Week 13 Prediction: Bucky Irving Receiving Yards More Than 16.5
The Bucs added Mike Evans back to the mix last week and have begun phasing out Rachaad White to a degree.
From Weeks 1-7, total RB touches:
- White 86
- Bucky Irving 82
Since Week 8:
- Irving 60
- White 48
And for the first time this season, Irving not only had more touches but more snaps than White.
Bucky is the far more explosive back, and so it’s good to see him getting more usage.
In his last 6 games, he’s hit 24 receiving yards in 4-of-6. In the two games he failed to hit 24+ receiving yards, he had 3 catches in both games.
Those games came against the solid RB-pass defenses of the Chiefs and 49ers.
He’s averaging 7.9 yards per reception, so we should expect 3 receptions to clear this low total of 16.5, and he’s had 3+ receptions in 5 straight games.
Now he’s going up against a Panthers defense that is allowing 7.8 yards per reception to RBs and just gave up 19 receiving yards to the aged Kareem Hunt and 60 receiving yards on 6 catches to Alvin Kamara earlier in November.
