Week 13 Prediction: Taysom Hill Receiving Yards More Than 26.5
Taysom Hill going for 138 yards rushing last week is definitely not a repeatable stat line.
He did that on just 7 rushes, and prior to that outburst, he was at between 3 and 6 rushing attempts in every single game, producing between 14 and 35 total rushing yards.
But in the receiving category, I think the market is too low based on his usage trend and commentary from his coaches.
After running 6, 6, and 3 routes pre-injury, Hill has run between 16-18 routes in the last four games.
And the last three games specifically, he’s totaled some solid yardage for the Saints passing attack:
- Week 9: 41 yards on 4 catches
- Week 10: 36 yards on 2 catches (also had an 88-yard TD catch nullified by penalty)
- Week 11: 50 yards on 8 catches
OC Klint Kubiak said, “When he’s been at his healthiest, we definitely want to use him to the max,” and when asked if there were any reservations about using Hill too much, in light of his prior injuries, “No… Absolutely not. We’re ready for Taysom to play every play of the game.”
Interim HC Darren Rizzi said, “I think our usage with him these last couple weeks is really what we’re kind of trying to trend towards. We looked at the tape and collectively felt that we gotta get this guy the ball, get him more involved.”
I look for him to hit the over in this receiving yardage total of 26.5 yards.
