What is DraftKings?

DraftKings is currently the #1 sportsbook in the country. The top sportsbook has fluctuated between DraftKings and FanDuel over the past few years, partly due to their extensive coverage in 25 states.

Like FanDuel, DraftKings began as a fantasy sports site in 2012. It rose to prominence over the years, and by the time sports betting was legalized in 2018, DraftKings already had a dedicated fanbase.

First offering sports betting in New Jersey, DraftKings expanded its coverage and offerings, adding horse racing and online casino games. Over time, DraftKings grew into the juggernaut it is today.

Currently, DraftKings’ main focus is on NFL and NBA betting, but it has an extensive list of sports markets to bet on. It’s arguably the best sports betting app, making it a favorite for fans who bet on the go.

Bet365 has more odds boosts to choose from, which is great for bettors who always try to find an edge over the sportsbook. In fact, they have the most boosts on offer at any given time out of any U.S. sportsbook. It’s one of bet365’s strongest selling points.

However, DraftKings has many boosts and promos, as well, although slightly fewer at any given time. Occasionally, you can find customizable odds boosts at DraftKings, which is a great feature.

Which has better odds, Bet365 or DraftKings?

One of the most critical factors in any sportsbook is odds pricing. Once you’ve claimed the welcome offer for a sportsbook and gotten settled in, you’ll want to compare lines with other sportsbooks to see where the most value is.

DraftKings has solid odds overall. However, if you compare them to Bet365’s odds over long periods, like we did in our Bet365 review, you’ll see that Bet365 tends to offer the favorable odds in most cases.

That’s not to say that DraftKings offers poor odds. Their odds are provided by SBTech, which is highly respected in the sports betting world. However, Bet365 regularly offers excellent odds with more consistency than DraftKings (and most other sportsbooks, for that matter).

For example, we found that the average vig at Bet365 was around 4.6%, while at DraftKings it was 5.3%. In layman's terms, that means DraftKings is taking a bigger cut.

When it comes to availability throughout the country, there’s no comparison. DraftKings is available in 25 U.S. states, more than double the number of states as Bet365, while there are only 11 Bet365 legal states.

These two sportsbooks support many payment options, including all the main ones. However, if there’s a particular payment option you prefer, check below to see which one, if either of them, offers it.

Withdrawal Times

With just about all deposit methods these days being instantaneous, it’s a shame withdrawal times aren’t the same.

At Bet365, withdrawal times for any of its payment methods take between 1-5 business days, except for Skrill, which processes in 24 hours, and PayPal, which processes in 12-48 hours.

Our DraftKings review found it typically takes 1-3 business days to withdraw via eChecks, Play+, or bank transfers. Regular checks take 3-7 days, and PayPal takes 12-48 hours.

Overall, DraftKings offers slightly faster withdrawal times, so we must give them the nod here.

Bet365 vs. DraftKings: Which Mobile App is Better?

This area is a strength for both bookmakers. However, DraftKings has one of the best, if not the best, sports betting apps available. Let’s examine the various categories to see how they stack up.

Design and Interface

DraftKings really shines when it comes to the user experience, and that starts with the design. The layout is simple yet modern and sleek. Everything is crisp, and even the banners are high-resolution.

That does mean things can take longer to load for users who suffer from slow connection speeds, but that’s not necessarily who this app was designed for. DraftKings offers a premium sports betting app that looks and feels state-of-the-art.

The Bet365 sportsbook app design is quite good, but can’t compare with the best. The only other sports betting app that comes close is FanDuel, which is equally as sleek and usable as the DraftKings app. Both are great for novice bettors looking for a beginner-friendly experience.

Live Streaming & Live Betting

DraftKings is simply one of the best for live betting and live streaming. Bet365 is also excellent, but the DraftKings app design simply outshines Bet365 again. The feel and functionality of DraftKings are just a little more premium.

Each is loaded with granular betting options that allow you to bet on the next snap, pitch, or possession. Bet365’s live betting, provided by THEO, also includes the option for Auto Cashout.

This uncommon feature allows you to set an amount. If the game's result reaches a certain threshold, such as your team being down by five, the app will automatically cash out your bet so you can salvage some of your losing wager.

This is an excellent feature that I wish more bookies would offer. Due to this, I give bet365 the edge despite DraftKings’ live betting and streaming being slightly nicer and better in use.

Safety & Security

Both bookmakers offer top-notch safety and security. They are licensed by state regulators individually for each state where they operate.

For example, in New Jersey, the NJDGE (New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement) oversees all gambling activity and ensures fair and equitable gaming, including sports betting. Both operators hold a license from this organization in the state of NJ.

Both sportsbooks use SSL encryption for data security to protect the site and all user data from cyberattacks. They also offer the option to enable 2FA (two-factor authentication) for the mobile app.

Both bet365 and DraftKings have plenty of contact methods, plus the ability to reach someone 24/7. However, Bet365 does have a slight edge, considering that they offer a direct phone line while DraftKings only offers a callback option if you’d like to speak with someone on the phone.

When I contacted the customer support team at each sportsbook, I received solid customer service, which is just what you might expect when contacting a massive U.S. sportsbook with hundreds of thousands of users.

DraftKings vs. Bet365: Which Has a Better Loyalty Program?

Bet365 has no sportsbook loyalty program, so this category is where DraftKings takes the cake. DraftKings’ Dynasty Rewards Program consists of five tiers:

• Onyx
• Diamond
• Gold
• Silver
• Bronze

The program counts towards all sports betting, casino playing, and horse betting. Placing bets on any of these offerings earns you Crowns, which can be used to claim prizes in the DK Store and Tier Credits.

As you can imagine, the greater the tier your account belongs to, the more perks and benefits you get. Rewards include exclusive event invitations, contest entries, bonus bets, and cash.

Users who tend to bet more than average might quickly benefit from DraftKings Dynasty Rewards, but will earn nothing extra from Bet365.

Both operators have impressive market depth for the sports they offer. However, for American sports leagues like the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and college sports, DraftKings has more betting options and prop bets.

Let's take the opening week NFL game between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills, a rematch of last year's incredible playoff game, for example. Much like our FanDuel vs. DraftKings comparison, this sportsbook matchup was extremely tight and tough to call. That said, we will give DraftKings the edge over Bet365 by a narrow margin. Both DraftKings and Bet365 are excellent sports betting sites and apps. In fact, they are both in our top 3 overall with FanDuel. They both consistently offer great experiences to bettors across a wide range of categories.

DraftKings has a better mobile app and user experience, faster withdrawal times, and a rewards program, while Bet365 does not. However, Bet365 has great odds, loads of sports to bet on, a choice of two great sign-up offers, more odd boosts, and high-quality customer support.
