The FanDuel app is best for live and parlay bettors who value speed, stability, and a top-notch user experience. Its biggest downside is that it doesn't have a loyalty program like most other sports betting apps.
I tested the app myself from October 1-7, 2026, on an iPhone 17 and a Samsung Galaxy S21. My testing included an initial $100 deposit via PayPal, pregame and live betting across numerous NFL markets, testing out bonuses and promotions, and withdrawing winnings.
The availability of the FanDuel Sportsbook app varies by state, so check our FanDuel legal states guide to see if it’s available where you live. However, FanDuel is now legal in all 50 states via FanDuel Predicts if the sportsbook isn't available in your state.

FanDuel Sportsbook App Review: How it Actually Performs
I started testing the FanDuel app on October 1, 2026. My test included both the iOS and Android versions on 5G mobile data. I ran several tests to replicate what casual bettors will experience after signing up and depositing. Here's what I found:
Test #1: Signing Up & Claiming the Bonus
Signing up took about 10 minutes on iOS, and FanDuel verified my identity within a few minutes after I entered my details and the last four digits of my SSN. No FanDuel promo code was needed to claim the sign up bonus of up to $250 in bonus bets.
I placed my first $5 bet, and the first $50 in bonus bets arrived immediately after that wager settled. Each daily $5 bet has to be placed between 3 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. ET to trigger the bonus bets, and missing a day means losing that day's $50. I set a phone reminder so I wouldn't miss any of the five days.
Test #2: Placing a Bet
I’ve noticed that if I have just opened the app for the first time that day, there’s a brief 2-3 second “checking odds” delay when adding a selection to the bet slip. After that, it happens instantly for the rest of the time I use the app.
The time that elapses from confirming the bet to it going through successfully for a pre-game bet is only around 2 seconds. Live betting tends to take a bit longer, and since the line can change while your bet is going through, you have to be quick.
Overall, placing a bet is very quick and intuitive.
Test #3: Live Betting
Online reports say placing a live bet takes 3 to 5 seconds, which was accurate in my testing. However, that doesn't tell the whole story.
There was one instance where the line changed twice as I was attempting to finalize my bet, and it was rejected as a result. The third bet went through, though. That was on the Steelers vs. Browns Thursday Night Football game.
I found that live betting at FanDuel was on par with other major sportsbooks like DraftKings and BetMGM. That said, it didn't quite match Bet365 in terms of speed and odds quality.
Test #4: Cash-Out Test
I tested the Cash-Out feature for the same match. Just like when placing a live bet, I had to act fast in order to lock in the offer for the cash-out. The first time I tried it, the bet settled before I could cash my bet out. The bet happened to lose, so I tried again afterward and placed another $5 bet.
The Cash-Out option was available immediately after placing the bet, although for a lower amount of $4.55. The second time I tried it, the cash-out was confirmed. There’s a confirmation after selecting cash-out, so you have to confirm again before the cash-out goes through. It went through in only 2 seconds, and the money was available in my balance instantly.

Test #5: How Long Does It Take to Open the App & Place a Bet?
FanDuel loaded up in around 4 seconds in my tests. I compared it to DraftKings and BetRivers to see which app loaded the fastest, and FanDuel was nearly twice as fast as DraftKings and around three times as fast as BetRivers.
If you need to take out your phone and place a bet as quickly as possible, the FanDuel app is one of the best options.
5 FanDuel App Settings to Change Before Betting
After you install the FanDuel mobile app, there are a handful of custom settings you should consider changing to improve your betting experience. These can actually save you money in one way or another, so be sure to make note.
1. Accept odds movements: On/off
Odds can change in the second between tapping a bet and placing it, especially during live games. This setting decides what happens when they do.
- Off: If the odds change, FanDuel stops and shows you the new price. Your bet only goes through once you accept the updated odds.
- On: FanDuel places your bet at the new odds automatically, without asking.
Say you wager on the Chiefs moneyline at -150 during a live game, and it moves to -170 before your bet goes through. With the setting off, you get a pop-up to accept or cancel. With it on, your bet is placed at -170, which pays less if it wins.
Which should you choose? Keep it off if you want to approve every price change, which suits most pre-game bettors. Turn it on if you bet live and want your bets in before the next play, even if the odds get slightly worse.
2. Notifications: On/off
With notifications on, FanDuel sends alerts to your phone's lock screen, so you can follow your bets without opening the app. By default, you'll get:
- Bet results: When a bet wins or loses
- Account alerts: Deposits, withdrawals, and security updates
- Promos: New offers and odds boosts
Which should you choose? Keep bet results and account alerts to track how your wagers perform and when deposits or withdrawals go through. Promo alerts are mostly useful as they remind you to take advantage of limited-time offers and boosted bets. If they tempt you to bet more than you planned, switch them off.
You can turn each type of alert on or off in My Account > Notifications, and change them back anytime.
3. Deposit and Activity Limits
In My Account, FanDuel lets you cap how much you can deposit, how much you can bet, and how much time you spend in the app. Say you set a $100 weekly deposit limit. Once you hit it, FanDuel won't accept another deposit until the week resets.
You can also take a break from the app for a set period, or block your account altogether if you need to step away.
Which should you choose? Before ever placing a bet, it's best practice to set a deposit limit. It's the simplest way to make sure you never spend more than you planned on betting.
4. SGP-first App Design
When you open a game on FanDuel, the betting menu features parlays and SGPs first. That's on purpose: parlays are FanDuel's most profitable bet type, because the sportsbook's cut is built into every leg you add.
You don't have to bet a parlay, though. Add just one selection to your bet slip, and it's placed as a normal single bet. You can't change which menu opens first, but it's worth knowing so the layout doesn't steer you into parlays you didn't plan on.
Which should you choose? Parlay bets are fine, as long as you are aware of the diminished odds of winning for each leg added and that the vig will be much higher. If you want less risk and less cost per bet, navigate away from the parlays and place straight wagers.
5 FanDuel App Features That Matter Most for NFL Bettors
FanDuel is designed first and foremost for major sports leagues, and that's certainly the case for the NFL. Here are the features that can enhance your NFL betting experience at FanDuel.

1. SGPs (same-game parlays)
The FanDuel app lets you quickly build SGPs with up to 16 legs per game. Putting one together is easy since it's the default tab you open when tapping on any game.
To build a FanDuel SGP, just add multiple wagers to your bet slip. The odds per selection and total odds for the SGP will be displayed in the bet slip. There, you can place your bet and it'll show you the potential payout if you win. Eligible markets will have an SGP icon on them.
You’ll also find pre-made SGPs, which you can customize once you select them. Removing a selection is simple. Just hit the red minus symbol beside the one you want to remove. To add more, just make your selection, and it’ll be added to the SGP in your bet slip.
You can also combine live in-game markets, which FanDuel has integrated over several updates. Overall, building SGPs is easy to figure out, even for beginners.
2. Alternate Lines and Player Props
Alternate lines are listed along with the other betting options in the betting menu, labeled as ‘Alt.’ Tapping the dropdown arrow will show you all the lines available. Compared to DraftKings, FanDuel has far more alternate lines. For NFL games, there’s a wide selection, such as Alt Spread, Alt Total Points, Alt Passing Yards, and more.
Props are well covered as well, such as TD Scorer Props, Rushing Props, and more. The depth is not quite as deep as at DraftKings, but more than most other sportsbooks, especially smaller ones like BetRivers and Hard Rock Bet.
3. Live Betting
The FanDuel app comes with a ‘Live Now’ tab at the bottom menu bar. This will bring up all events currently in progress. Events are categorized by sport, with the number of events available at the moment shown for each sport.
SGP is available in the betting menus for live games, and you can stream most games if you’re logged in and have an active bet placed.
Lines flash and are color-coded as they move, green for higher odds, red for lower odds, which is easy to take in at a glance. How long they take to update varies by sport and bet type. For some bets, the odds will simply update and flash to indicate the change in odds. For others, the lock symbol will show for a few seconds until the new odds are available, as discussed above in my testing.
4. Cash-Out
There is no partial cash-out, but full cash-out is available for many wagers. In the ‘My Bets' section, reachable from the bottom menu bar, you’ll find your active wagers. Those that are eligible for cash out will have a green Cash Out button with the offered amount on it.
Tapping this one will select it, and tapping it again will confirm the cash-out. The sportsbook's margin will be baked into the cash-out offer, so that’s why if you bet $5, for example, you’ll only be able to cash out around $4 or even $3 and change instead of the full $5, even if only a few seconds have gone by since you placed the bet.
5. Bet Tracking Feature
You can have your bets displayed with the game broadcast using the Bet Tracking feature, which launched on December 17th, 2025. It works for NHL and NBA games through the FanDuel app.
You can also link your account with Amazon Prime for Bet Tracking on WNBA games. Although the Bet Tracking feature isn’t available for NFL games, it could be introduced in the future.
❗Missing Feature: No Rewards Program for Sports Betting
My biggest gripe is that FanDuel lacks a loyalty program for sports bettors like DraftKings’ Dynasty Rewards or Caesars Rewards. For high-volume bettors, this is a major downside, since you’ll be missing out on reward credits and perks.
FanDuel App Review: Where FanDuel’s Odds are Sharp and Where They Aren't
FanDuel's prices depend a lot on what you bet. On spreads, totals, and moneylines for major games, its odds are usually in line with other top sportsbooks. In my testing, FanDuel's odds were a bit hit or miss.
The real cost shows up on parlays, same game parlays, and player props. These are the bets where FanDuel keeps its biggest cut, and they're also the ones the app pushes hardest.
Why Parlays Cost More
On a standard bet at -110 on both sides, the sportsbook keeps about 4.5% of what's wagered. In a parlay, that cut is built into every leg, so it stacks up.
A three-leg parlay of -110 wagers pays +596 at FanDuel. If there were no cut, the same parlay would pay +700. That's about 13% less, and the gap grows with every leg you add.
Compare Odds Yourself
Before you wager, look up the same line on two or three other sportsbooks. If FanDuel has the Bills at -110 and another app has -105, the other app pays more for the same pick. Odds move all day as bets come in, so the cheapest app can change from game to game. For this reason, we recommend signing up at multiple sportsbook apps (see our Bet365 app review).
Limits, Max Payouts, and House Rules on the FanDuel app
We read through FanDuel's House Rules. Here are the key points you need to know.
Max Payout Clause
FanDuel’s House Rules page states that the maximum payout for any bet, single or combination, is $1,000,000. If the winnings exceed that amount, you’ll only receive $1 million.
This limit applies to “a customer or group of customers acting together on the same combination of selections, regardless of whether the bets were placed separately, at different prices, on different days, or across multiple accounts.” This means if you’re collaborating, your winnings could get capped, so be mindful.
FanDuel’s Discretion on Bets
The rules give discretion to FanDuel to not accept certain parlays and to scale back stakes. This is essentially their right to limit your betting activities if you win too much.
Correlated legs and duplicate events are left to FanDuel’s discretion. The rules let FanDuel void parlays that have selections where one outcome affects another's pricing unless it's offered as an SGP. FanDuel can also void parlays built across the same event listed twice.
With this rule, you could have a winning bet not count, so be careful. When your bets correlate, they should be in an SGP in order to avoid breaking this rule.
Voided Legs & Obvious Error Provisions
If a leg of your parlay or SGP becomes void, the parlay will automatically recalculate. This could even happen to one or more legs, and even turn your bet into a single bet depending on the number of legs and how many have been voided.
The House Rules also include obvious-error and palpable-error provisions that allow voiding or repricing bets that have been offered at prices “materially different from the general market.” This means if the sportsbook lists a bet at an absurd price in error, they retain the right to void it once their error has been realized.
Note: FanDuel House Rules vary by state, so specific terms can differ.
Is the FanDuel App Better than other Sportsbook Apps?
Alternate lines is one area where FanDuel really excels, especially when comparing FanDuel vs. DraftKings. It has more options listed than its top rival, as well as other popular bookmakers like Fanatics Sportsbook.
Niche markets are an area where FanDuel is middle of the pack, with Bet365 being far and away the best for international betting markets and DraftKings being roughly on par with FanDuel. FanDuel has the quickest uptime and is quite stable the majority of the time.
FanDuel’s lack of a loyalty program really sticks out compared to Dynasty Rewards at DraftKings, which offer tiered rewards and reward credits. However, Bet365 doesn’t offer a loyalty program for sports either.
Which FanDuel App Do You Actually Need?
For most people, just one: the main FanDuel app. It covers sports betting, casino games, and FanDuel Predicts, and shows you whichever is legal in the state you're in. You'll only need a separate download for daily fantasy, and in some states, for horse racing.
What to know before you download:
- One login for everything: You use the same FanDuel username and password across every app.
- Separate wallets: Your sportsbook and casino share one balance where both are legal, but Predicts money is kept separate and can't be moved over.
- Predicts isn't a sportsbook: It's a federally regulated trading platform, launched with CME Group in December 2025. It has its own account, its own rules, and different tax treatment from sports betting winnings.
- Who regulates what: The sportsbook and casino are regulated by each state. Daily fantasy follows separate state fantasy laws. Predicts is overseen by the CFTC, the federal regulator for futures trading.
- Sports on Predicts is limited by state: Where FanDuel Sportsbook is legal, Predicts doesn't offer sports contracts. Sports trading is only available in states without legal sports betting.

FanDuel Deposits and Withdrawals
You can deposit and withdraw in the FanDuel app the same way you would on desktop. Here's what to expect:
- Payment methods: Debit cards, Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, online banking, and prepaid cards and gift cards.
- Withdrawal speed: Our debit card withdrawal arrived in under 24 hours.
- Fees: FanDuel charges no fees on deposits or withdrawals
- ID checks: Small withdrawals usually go through without extra documents. Larger ones may need ID.
- Credit cards: No longer accepted.
How Fast are FanDuel Withdrawals?
We withdrew $5.55 to a Visa debit card at 9 a.m. on October 6, 2026. The money was in our bank account by 8:30 a.m. the next day, just under 24 hours later.
Other users report that debit card withdrawals get faster after the first one, sometimes arriving within minutes. Larger or back-to-back withdrawals can take around 24 hours. FanDuel's terms don't say exactly how the amount or frequency affects timing.

Account verification for withdrawals
FanDuel already has your Social Security number and personal details from sign up, so small withdrawals usually go through without extra checks. We weren't asked for anything on our $5.55 withdrawal.
For larger withdrawals, FanDuel may ask you to verify your identity first. Have a government-issued ID ready, and possibly proof of address like a recent utility bill.
Responsible Gambling at FanDuel
On both the FanDuel iOS app and FanDuel Android app, you can access the Responsible Play section by tapping the ‘RG’ button at the top-left of the home screen. There, you’ll find a list of settings, tools, and resources, like Timeout, Deposit threshold, Reality check, and Self-exclusion.
The minimum age for sports betting in most states is 21. However, FanDuel Predicts has a minimum age of 18. Trading carries risk, just like sports betting. Never chase losses, always set a budget for yourself, and only bet for entertainment purposes.
There are free gambling help hotlines available, such as 1-800-GAMBLER. Many states run their own gambling help services.

Final Thoughts: Who Should Use the FanDuel App and Who Shouldn’t?
If you like live betting and want the fastest uptime for quick bets with stable overall performance, the FanDuel app is a great option. It also suits those who prioritize alternate lines, being able to build SGPs easily, responsive live betting and streaming within the app, and bet tracking.
Choose another sportsbook app if you want a structured loyalty program for sports betting, if you bet niche or international markets heavily, or if a specific rival beat FanDuel on the metric you care most in our table above.
We recommend keeping the FanDuel mobile app as another sportsbook on your phone if you line-shop. That way, you can search for the best line for each bet you want to place. After all, no single app is best in every category, and having two or three options is how you avoid being stuck with the worst odds for a particular bet.
