Quarterback
Geno Smith: Sunday was another rough outing for Geno.
He only threw for 6.3 yards per pass attempt, failing to throw a touchdown with 2 more interceptions.
Smith has thrown a league-high 9 interceptions.
His 5.5% interception rate is significantly higher than his career average of 2.9%.
Pro Football Focus has credited Smith with a 5.1% turnover-worthy throw rate, which is ahead of only Jake Browning (6.0%) and J.J. McCarthy (6.6%).
Smith has single-digit fantasy points in three of his past four games.
This offense is dealing with systemic failure all around.
For the past few weeks, I have told myself I am done with this passing offense.
Every week, they then have either a game environment or a matchup that appears favorable.
We can only take having the rug pulled out from under us so much.
The good news is that while this may look appealing in terms of the Raiders being favored, the Titans have allowed just 12.8 passing points per game (10th).
They have allowed just one QB1 scorer with a high week of QB11, which was Daniel Jones.
That said, they have offered enough floor to leave Smith in play as a matchup-based QB2.
Matthew Stafford, Jones, C.J. Stroud, and Kyler Murray have all reached 15 fantasy points against Tennessee over their past four games.
Cam Ward: Sunday was rolling along as most of the opening month did for Ward.
Through three quarters, Ward had completed 8 of 21 passes (38.1%) for 72 yards (3.4 Y/A) in Arizona.
He then had his best stretch of early-career football.
Ward was 13 of 18 (72.2%) for 193 yards (10.7 Y/A) in the fourth quarter.
He did throw an interception, but even that turned into a touchdown for the Titans.
Was this the moment to get the ball rolling on Ward building momentum?
He still hasn't had a top-20 fantasy week, so we won’t elevate Ward to more than a QB2. However, the matchup does lend itself to giving him another good opportunity to build on last week’s end-of-game success.
The Raiders are 24th in pressure rate (32%), allowing 7.2 yards per pass attempt (21st) and 0.437 passing points per attempt (18th).
