- The Giants are 31st in defensive EPA (-91.4), ahead of only the Bengals (-112.9).
- The Patriots are 1st in the league in passing EPA (114.6) and 31st in rushing EPA (-57.4).
- The Giants are last in defensive EPA against the run (-50.5). The next closest team (Buffalo) is at -25.6.
- The Giants are 2nd in offensive EPA since Week 6 (54.3) but have a 1-6 record over those games.
- The Giants have converted a league-high 47.5% of their third downs over that span.
- The Giants have scored 2.42 points per drive over that period, 8th in the league.
- The Giants have a 2-5 record in games they have led in the second half, ahead of only the Titans (0-3).
- The Patriots have trailed at the half one time this season, the fewest in the league.
- The Patriots have allowed a league-high 73.1% (19 of 26) of opponent red zone trips to score touchdowns.
- The Giants have allowed a 71.4% (30 of 42) red zone touchdown rate, 31st in the league.
Trust = spike production for that player
Quarterback
Drake Maye: After a slow start in Cincinnati on Sunday, Maye was sharp the rest of the afternoon.
He completed 3 of 7 passes for 16 yards and a pick-6 on the first three drives of the game.
He then settled in, completing 19 of 28 passes for 283 yards and a touchdown while adding 22 rushing yards.
Maye has been just a touch lighter for fantasy as of late.
He has finished as the QB10 to QB16 in each of the past four weeks.
He has still held an excellent floor. We just have not had the spike outcomes we were getting early in the year.
Maye is a home favorite attached to a high team total, so we expect a game environment that keeps him in play as a QB1.
There are a few moving parts that could prevent a ceiling outcome.
The Patriots lost left tackle Will Campbell during the game. Campbell was placed on injured reserve.
Left guard Jared Wilson has an ankle injury and has been ruled out, meaning the Patriots will start a new left side of the offensive line on Monday.
This will be the second time this season that the Patriots have opened with a different starting offensive line.
If Maye has had one small red flag during an incredible season, it is his 9.4% sack rate, which ranks 28th in the league.
The Giants are not a heavy pass-rush team, ranking 23rd in pressure (33.3%), but Brian Burns has 13 sacks this season.
If the Patriots can keep Maye clean, the Giants have allowed a 72.5% completion rate (22nd) and a 6.1% touchdown rate (26th) when they do not get pressure.
The Giants fired defensive coordinator Shane Bowen after last week’s game to make some defensive changes.
The Giants were third in the league in rate of man coverage (32.6%) under Bowen.
If they stick with that here, Maye also has been great against man coverage, completing 63.4% of his passes (fourth) for 9.2 yards per pass attempt (second).
Maye has been excellent throwing downfield this year.
He leads the NFL with a 63% completion rate on throws 10 or more yards downfield (the league rate is 48.1%).
The Giants have allowed a 52.2% completion rate on those throws (29th).
Jaxson Dart: Dart has cleared concussion protocol and will be back for Monday night.
It has not always been clean with Dart, but he keeps scoring fantasy points.
He averages 22.9 points per game as a starter, finishing lower than QB13 in just one of his seven starts.
That also includes two games against the Eagles, one against Denver, and one against the Chargers.
He is a massive road underdog, but Dart is an upside option on the QB1 line.
Under pressure, Dart has completed 42.6% of his passes (28th) with a 27% sack rate (29th).
Pro Football Focus has credited Dart with creating 42.1% of his own pressures this season, by far the highest total among quarterbacks.
The Patriots are sixth in pressure rate at home this season (40.3%).
New England also has played the fifth-highest rate of man coverage (34.2%).
Dart is only averaging 6.3 yards per attempt against man coverage (21st), but has an 8.9% touchdown rate (14th).
Coming out of concussion protocol and with the coaching changes (Dart has not played since the firing of Brian Daboll), it will be interesting to see how much Dart runs here.
That has been the most significant component of his fantasy success.
45.9% of Dart’s fantasy points are from rushing output, the highest rate in the league.
Running Back
TreVeyon Henderson: With their full backfield back in place on Sunday, Henderson remained the lead back, but of course, did concede work.
With Rhamondre Stevenson and Terrell Jennings back, Henderson played 64.8% of the offensive snaps after rates of 75%, 83.6%, and 88.1% the previous three weeks.
Despite a dip in overall snaps, Henderson still racked up 21 touches.
That was 72.4% of the backfield share, RB13 on the week.
Henderson did have some poor fortune in getting tackled at the one-yard line on two different possessions, but Steveson (twice) and Jennings (once) received touches inside the five-yard line as well.
Both of those backs failed their opportunities near the end zone, so hopefully Henderson gets the next touches there.
Henderson also only managed 81 yards on his touches against the Bengals, rushing 18 times for 66 yards (3.7 YPC).
This has not been a good running team all season, and now we are down two offensive linemen.
Henderson has averaged 0.57 yards before contact over the past month, which is 40th in the league over that span.
Between losing a few goal-line touches and the state of this offensive line, there are some pulling threads, but Henderson still is an upside option on the RB1/RB2 line.
We have another great matchup as a home favorite here.
The Giants are allowing a league-high 6.2 yards per carry to running backs.
If this New England line can do its part here, the Giants are allowing a league-high 2.23 yards before contact per rush.
If Henderson can get space as they allowed Jahmyr Gibbs last week, there will be explosive runs.
The Giants are also 26th in receiving yards allowed to backfields (10.6 per game).
Henderson ran a route on 53.8% of the dropbacks Sunday (RB18) with 12.1% of the targets (RB16).
Tyrone Tracy: Tracy held onto the better end of this backfield again on Sunday, turning 23 touches into 130 yards.
This came a week after handling 23 touches for 139 yards.
We did see Devin Singletary get another touch inside the five-yard line, but that is all that Tracy is missing from his profile since the team lost Cam Skattebo.
Tracy is an RB2/FLEX here.
Both of the past two weeks came against good defenses in Green Bay and Detroit (both top-10 in yards per carry allowed backs), with the latter as a road underdog.
We have another one of those spots this week.
The Patriots allow 3.6 YPC to running backs (second) and a league-low 63.0 rushing yards per game to backfields.
They do, however, allow 5.4 receptions per game to running backs, the third-most in the league.
Tracy has receiving lines of 4-51-0 and 3-68-0 the past two weeks.
The one wild card is that the past two weeks came without Dart, who can run himself.
Dart was throwing to Skattebo.
He has a 17.3% target rate to running backs (18th), keeping the receiving work on the table.
