Christian McCaffrey
McCaffrey carried this offense through all of the injuries this season.
McCaffrey led the NFL with 413 touches, producing 2,126 yards from scrimmage and 17 touchdowns.
He was not a hyper-efficient runner but accumulated 1,202 yards and 10 scores on the ground while catching 102 passes for 924 yards and 7 touchdowns through the air.
With that, McCaffrey became the first player to ever have 2,000 yards and 100-plus receptions in multiple seasons (LaDainian Tomlinson is the only other player to do it once).
It was McCaffrey’s third season with at least 100 receptions. All other NFL running backs in history have done it four times.
McCaffrey has had as reliable a floor as you could look for in fantasy football through pass catching and rushing volume, but his best weeks have come when he was able to pair his receiving role with rushing efficiency, something that has been extremely opponent-driven.
McCaffrey’s 100-yard rushing games this season came against the Giants, Falcons, Colts, and Bears.
The only other team he rushed for more than 4.2 yards per carry against was the Cardinals in Week 11.
The Eagles are not a squeaky-clean run defense, but they have been sturdy when they have Jalen Carter.
With Carter on the field, the Eagles have allowed 4.0 YPC to running backs with a 62.9% success rate.
With Carter off the field, they have allowed 4.4 YPC to running backs with a 57.9% success rate.
One potential avenue for success here is that the Eagles have allowed 4.5 YPC (18th) to running backs on 21 personnel runs and a run of 10 or more yards on 16% of those runs (27th).
Even with Carter on the field, those rates are 4.6 YPC and a 15.4% explosive rate.
No team has a higher run rate out of 21 personnel than the 49ers at 42.8%.
