We are coming off an uneven and ugly week of football.

Week 6 gave us 21.5 offensive points per game, the fewest this season outside of Week 2 (19.7).

Points per drive (1.89) were a season low.

Offenses averaged a season-low 5.0 yards per play.

Possessions stalled out at higher rates.

Offenses went three-and-out on a season-high 24.1% of possessions.

This was the first week in which offenses failed to score a touchdown on 20% of the possessions (19.1%).

Red-zone touchdown rate was the lowest of the season (53.5%).

Offenses converted a season-low 41% (16 of 39) on fourth down, down from 54% entering Week 6.

We had a plethora of penalties again.

We are now up to the most penalty yards through six weeks of any season since 2019.

There are few interesting angles surrounding the calls, too.

Overall, this is the most offensive penalties we have had through six weeks in any season in the 2000s.

Pre-snap penalties are near all-time highs.

This is the most delay-of-game penalties (98) through six weeks in the 2000s.

The 248 false start calls are the most through this point of a season since 2007.

My hypothesis is that the greater emphasis on motion and pre-snap alignment is driving the rise in procedural penalties.

The league has also aggressively come down on offensive holding.

We have seen the second-most offensive holding calls (307) at this point in a season in the 2000s.

While offensive penalties are up in those areas, we also have the most defensive pass interference penalty yards (1,770) through six weeks since 2021.

Roughing the passer is also up.

The 45 roughing calls are the most to this point in a season since 2021.

This week alone, we had a season-high 15 roughing the passer calls.

We are now one-third of the way through the NFL regular season.

This week will mark the halfway point of the fantasy regular season in many managed leagues.

By now, we know where we stand and where our strengths and weaknesses are for seasonal leagues.

It's time to aggressively calibrate your roster.

Especially as the bye weeks ramp up.

This week, the Bills, Jaguars, Chargers, and Commanders are on bye.

We have another early kickoff on Sunday morning in Paris between the Steelers and Saints.

Ensure your roster is updated for that early kickoff on Sunday morning.

The more information we gather, the stronger our evidence-based approach can be.

We also have a ton of football left to go.

This article will be updated throughout the week to reflect major news or injury implications.

I encourage you to use the game-by-game tables and data points here, along with the player rankings available every Wednesday.

Enjoy the games!
