Cardinals vs. Rams Fantasy Quarterback Preview

Matthew Stafford (TRUST)

Stafford has thrown for 300 yards in four straight games, with multiple touchdowns in three of his last four.

He is coming off his first interception-free game on Monday night.

The Rams have been throwing the ball heavily.

Stafford leads the NFL in completions (139), pass attempts (216), and passing yards (1,572).

Stafford has thrown 55, 51, and 54 passes in the past three games.

That is only the second time ever a player has attempted 50 or more passes in three straight games.

The other player to do it was Drew Bledsoe in 1995.

For context, Stafford is on pace for 734 pass attempts.

Last season, he threw 597 passes.

This should be a game script that increases the run rate, but Stafford is in a great spot to be efficient with his attempts.

Arizona is allowing a league-high 0.72 passing points per attempt.

For context, Brock Purdy leads the league in that category at 0.68 passing points per dropback.

So, Arizona is basically making every quarterback they face a better version of 2026 Purdy.

The Cardinals are allowing a league-high 9.1 yards per pass attempt and a league-high 10.1% touchdown rate.

Arizona is also matching 2+ TE sets with base personnel on 78% of snaps.

In 2025, they matched the Rams' multiple tight end sets with base personnel on 84% of those snaps.

This year, when opponents have played base personnel against Stafford, he has completed 38 of 55 passes (69.1%) for 9.1 yards per attempt, with 4 touchdowns and zero interceptions.

When Arizona played base defense against Stafford last season, he was 21 of 32 (65.6%) for 6.7 Y/A with 3 touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Stafford was the QB4 (23.2 points) and QB2 (26.7 points) in his two starts against Arizona a year ago.

Jacoby Brissett

It wasn't clean, but we got there with Brissett against the Lions last week.

He finished as the QB8 (25.3 points), completing 29 of 47 passes (61.7%) for 292 yards and 3 touchdowns, with an interception, and rushing for 19 yards.

He also caught a pass for 7 yards, the second reception of his career.

This was shades of 2025 Brissett as he and Arizona were in a big hole in the second half.

At halftime, Brissett was 9 of 20 (45%) for 90 yards (4.5 Y/A), with a touchdown and an interception.

His 6.2 yards per pass attempt were easily the fewest against Detroit this season (Tyler Shough had 7.3 Y/A versus Detroit in Week 1).

Brissett is last in the NFL with 5.6 yards per pass attempt.

We are already hearing whispers about Arizona making a potential move at quarterback, but nothing is imminent yet.

We have picked our spots with Brissett, but he is a firm QB2 here.

The Rams have allowed a 54.8% completion rate (2nd) and 5.7 yards per pass attempt (2nd) to passers.

They allow 12.6 passing points per game (13th) and a 5.5% touchdown rate (23rd).
