Every Sunday in the weekly fantasy chats, I get asked about my favorite plays of the week or who is my player pool that weekend for DFS.

This article series covers exactly that.

I will go through the players I am targeting as core plays for all formats here. I will cover tournament plays and games to target for stacks in other posts.

The idea is that this will paint a clearer picture of framing lineups.

Week 12 DFS Content:

Our core players are the players that we will have the most exposure to in their positions.

They can be played in cash games and tournaments and are the players we are primarily building our lineups with.

I will have some analysis on the player selections and game writeups, but check out the Week 12 Worksheet for a fully detailed breakdown of the players and games.

Quarterback

Josh Allen ($8,100 DraftKings/$9,200 FanDuel)

Allen gets the nod here over Jalen Hurts in core and cash builds because we know that he is fully healthy.

Allen was QB6 (22.5 points) Sunday against the Jets, rectifying recent struggles in the matchup.

Allen threw for 8.6 yards per pass attempt and three touchdowns, the most he has had in a game in both departments since Week 4.

Allen has now been a top-six scorer in seven of his past 10 games.

Philadelphia is facing the most passing attempts per game (40.5).

They also have allowed a 5.2% touchdown rate to passers, 28th in the league.

The Eagles have allowed four quarterbacks this season to finish as QB2 overall or higher, including allowing the highest-scorer in their two games before Monday Night.

C.J. Stroud ($7,700/$7,700)

Stroud has thrown for over 9.0 Y/A in five games already this season.

That includes the first time that these teams met back in Week 3.

In that matchup in Jacksonville, Stroud connected on 20-of-30 passes for 280 yards with two touchdowns.

Jacksonville was aggressive in that matchup, blitzing Stroud on 36.7% of his dropbacks, their third-highest rate in a game this season.

Against the blitz in that game, Stroud was 8-of-11 for 120 yards (11.8 Y/A) and both of his touchdowns.

The thing is, even when he has not been blitzed, Stroud is averaging 7.9 Y/A, which is fourth in the league.

The Jaguars are 26th in passing points allowed per game (15.0) and have been opponent-driven for fantasy.

Anthony Richardson, Stroud, Josh Allen, and Brock Purdy have all logged top-10 scoring weeks against the Jaguars (as well as Derek Carr) while the QB2 weeks they have allowed have been to Patrick Mahomes, Desmond Ridder, Gardner Minshew, Kenny Pickett/Mitchell Trubisky, and Will Levis.
