NFL Head Coach Vacancies

There are currently six NFL head coaching vacancies: Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets  

Chicago Bears Head Coach Candidates

The Bears have completed interviews with former Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, Lions OC Ben Johnson, Lions DC Aaron Glenn, Giants OC Mike Kafka, Cardinals OC Drew Petzing, and Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver for their head coaching vacancy.

The Bears are expected to interview Vikings DC Brian Flores, Steelers OC Arthur Smith, Ravens OC Todd Monken, former Stanford coach David Shaw, Iowa State coach Matt Campbell, Bills OC Joe Brady, and Commanders OC Kliff Kingsbury for their head coaching vacancy.

The Bears requested permission to interview now former Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy but were denied by Dallas. They likely will be interested in speaking with him again.

Matt Eberflus was fired as Bears head coach on November 29 after leading the team to a 14-32 record in three seasons.

Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Candidates

Mike McCarthy and the Cowboys agreed to part ways on January 13 after the head coach led the team to an 84-49 record over five seasons. 

Jacksonville Jaguars Head Coach Candidates

The Jaguars have completed interviews with Lions OC Ben Johnson, Lions DC Aaron Glenn, Raiders DC Patrick Graham, and Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo for their head coaching vacancy.

The Jaguars are expected to interview Eagles OC Kellen Moore, Ravens OC Todd Monken, Bills OC Joe Brady, Bucs OC Liam Coen, and former Jets coach Robert Saleh for their head coaching vacancy.

Doug Pederson was fired as Jaguars head coach on January 6 after leading the team to a 22-29 record in three seasons.

Las Vegas Raiders Head Coach Candidates

The Raiders have completed interviews with Lions DC Aaron Glenn and Lions OC Ben Johnson for their head coaching vacancy.

The Raiders are expected to interview former Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, Vikings DC Brian Flores, Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo, and former Jets coach Robert Saleh for their head coaching vacancy.

Antonio Pierce was fired as Raiders head coach on January 7 after leading the team to a 4-13 record in one season.

New England Patriots Head Coach Hire

The Patriots hired Mike Vrabel as their next head coach on January 12.

Vrabel ending up with the Patriots appeared to be a fait accompli as soon as Jerod Mayo was fired, and while the Patriots did interview Lions OC Ben Johnson, the entire search felt like something of a show.

Vrabel spent eight seasons with the Patriots as a player, winning three Super Bowls.

He led the Titans to a 54-45 record over six seasons with three playoff appearances including an AFC Championship game in 2019.

With Vrabel on board, the Patriots could bring back another familiar face at offensive coordinator.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports Josh McDaniels will be “in the mix” for the OC job.

New Orleans Saints Head Coach Candidates

The Saints have completed interviews with Lions DC Aaron Glenn, Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver, and Giants OC Mike Kafka for their head coaching vacancy.

The Saints are expected to interview former Stanford coach David Shaw, Bills OC Joe Brady, Broncos QBs coach Davis Webb, Commanders OC Kliff Kingsbury, and Eagles OC Kellen Moore for their head coaching vacancy.

Dennis Allen was fired as Saints head coach on November 4 after leading the team to an 18-25 record in three seasons. 

New York Jets Head Coach Candidates

The Jets have completed interviews with former Commanders coach Ron Rivera, former Jets coach Rex Ryan, Chiefs OC Matt Nagy, Lions DC Aaron Glenn, Saints interim coach Darren Rizzi, Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo, and Maryland coach Mike Locksley for their head coaching vacancy.

The Jets are expected to interview former Vikings DC Brian Flores, Bills OC Joe Brady, Steelers OC Arthur Smith, Vikings QBs coach Josh McCown, 49ers QBs coach Brian Griese, Texans OC Bobby Slowik, and Broncos DC Vance Joesph for their head coaching vacancy.

Robert Saleh was fired as Jets head coach on October 8 after leading the team to a 20-36 record in four seasons.

NFL GM Vacancies

There are currently three NFL general manager vacancies: Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, Tennessee Titans

Las Vegas Raiders General Manager Candidates

Tom Telesco was fired as Raiders general manager on January 9 after leading the team to a 4-13 record in one season. 

New York Jets General Manager Candidates

The Jets have completed interviews with former Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff, former Titans GM Jon Robinson, ESPN analyst Louis Riddick, Eagles assistant GM Alec Halaby, Chiefs assistant GM Mike Borgonzi, former Browns GM Ray Farmer, Bucs assistant GM Mike Greenberg, Lions special assistant Chris Spielman, Broncos assistant GM Darren Mougey, Commanders assistant GM Lance Newmark, Bengals senior personnel executive Trey Brown, former Colts GM Ryan Grigson, and Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy for their general manager vacancy.

The Jets are expected to interview Bills assistant GM Brian Gaine and Packers VP of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan for their GM vacancy.

Joe Douglas was fired as Jets general manager on November 19 after leading the team to a 30-66 record in six seasons. 

Tennessee Titans General Manager Candidates

The Titans have completed interviews with Browns assistant GM Catherine Hickman, former Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie, Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham, former Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff, Bucs assistant GM John Spytek, Colts assistant GM Ed Dodds, Bills director of player personnel Terrance Gray, and Seahawks senior director of player personnel Matt Berry for their general manager vacancy.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini believes McKenzie is the frontrunner for the job.

Ran Carthon was fired as Titans general manager on January 7 after leading the team to a 9-25 record in two seasons.
